To help us deliver on this ambitious vision, we are on the hunt for a talented Fullstack Engineer who gets excited to understand our users, is passionate about Search, Relevance, and tackling interesting problems in this space!

THE TEAM

The Eventbrite Search Experience and Relevance team is empowering users by building the systems and components that enable our users to find exactly what they’re looking for. You’ll work on an inciting full-stack team committed to improving our Search Relevance, building the API’s that retrieve these recommendations, as well as the front end experience our consumers interact with.

THE ROLE

We aspire to be your go-to app to discover and engage with live experiences and the people connecting through them. How we surface and recommend live experiences to users is a critical component of delivering on our vision and the secret sauce for why people come back to Eventbrite over and over again. With the largest event inventory on the planet, and millions of consumers using the platform to discover things to do each month, our ability to connect the two is challenging and critical. 

As a Fullstack Engineer you will be responsible for the API’s and services that ensure the right content is surfaced in an optimal response time, as well as the front end experience our users engage with. You will collaborate with product, data science, and other engineers to implement solutions to various needs and requirements. As a member of the team, you will help us improve the experience that millions of consumers use to find exciting events.

THE SKILLSET

  • You have 2-4+ years of experience building applications at scale in at least one popular programming language, such as Python, Java, Javascript, PHP, Ruby, C#, etc
  • You have 2+ years of experience using some form of web framework: Django, Symphony, Rails, ASP.net, etc.
  • You have knowledge of microservices and/or Service Oriented Architecture
  • You are an efficient, practical programmer, designed and producing dependable code
  • You care about making sure your code is maintainable and well tested
  • You have a holistic approach to quality
  • You are a results-driven self-starter with great communication and collaboration skills; we put a lot of emphasis on being team players
  • You care about making sure your code is maintainable and well tested
  • You are familiar with CICD tools and processes

BONUS POINTS FOR

  • You have experience working with Search Engines such as OpenSearch, ElasticSearch, Solr, etc
  • You have experience working in React/React Native
  • Experience with Infrastructure As Code - We heavily leverage AWS technology to get the job done. On any given day you, the team will be working with Lambdas, ECS and Fargate, API Gateway, Docker, Kinesis, and much more!

PAY TRANSPARENCY

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Eventbrite, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is listed below. You may also be eligible to participate in Eventbrite’s incentive program(s) (such as equity, annual incentive bonus and commission plans), subject to the applicable rules and restrictions.
