THE CHALLENGE
We are looking for a leader to lead our IT audit strategy (SOX, ERM and Internal Audit) and advance our department Internal Audit operations. This individual will partner closely with key business stakeholders, liaise with external partners, and build the Internal Audit brand.
THE TEAM
This role will be a key part of our Internal Audit team. The person will report to the Internal Audit Director and work directly with key business stakeholders across Engineering, Product, Security, Finance, Legal, HR, and compliance. This role will manage employees in other countries.
THE ROLE
As the Senior IT Manager of Internal Audit, you will lead the execution of IT Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance program for the global company. Document processes, perform test of controls, ensure documentation is up-to-date for scoping, testing, and remediation. Identify control deficiencies and recommend improvements related to Eventbrite’s key controls.
YOU WILL
- In this role, you will be responsible for managing a global co-source partner to execute IT audit activities. Additionally, you may take on responsibilities related to transitioning outsourced resources into an in-house model and expanding our global IT SOX compliance team at Eventbrite.
- Work across the engineering, product, security, finance, operations, legal, compliance orgs to identify and support program improvements to enable scale, evaluate acquisition environments, and mitigate risk.
- Assist in maturing and executing the Enterprise Risk Management activities including the Enterprise Risk Assessment and the Risk Steering Committee, the assessment of risk and controls, and the presentation of meaningful results to management.
- Coordinate with service providers, external auditors, internal leaders and process owners to ensure engagement and timely execution of audit work and the SOX compliance program. Build the Internal Audit brand across the global company.
- Lead other audit work as identified through the Enterprise Risk Assessment process – financial, operational, IT, and strategic.
- Write detailed reports and work directly with management to validate observations and recommend effective control solutions to mitigate risk.
THE SKILLSET
- 8-10 years of experience in IT audit, internal audit, SOX compliance, with a strong understanding of microservices environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, or related field
- Professional certification (CISA, CISSP, CPA, CIA, etc.) preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of IT control frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, COSO, COBIT).
- Experience in payment or platform industries and operational audits, with a strong understanding of microservice environments.
- Proven experience in leading audit transitions and building high-performing teams.
- Proficiency in audit tools and technologies such as AuditBoard, Workday, AWS, Snowflake, GitHub, JIRA.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess complex IT systems and processes.

- Experience with auditing entities outside the United States.
- Big 4 public accounting firm experience.
