What You'll Do
Epic Games is looking for a Senior Hard Surface Artist to join our team working with art, design, animation, and production to help figure out how we supply a steady stream of mechanical content on Fortnite. You will create stylized art and push the quality of hard surface mechanical modeling while being a solid communicator and team player. Bring your awesome mechanical models to life in this stylized world.
In this role, you will
- Model high poly, low poly, and texturing assets including weapons, pickaxes, gliders, vehicles, and gadgets
- Handle outsourcing management as needed; checking to make sure outsourcers are adhering to technical & aesthetic requirements
- Create mechanical models that show a high degree of articulation and animation
- Create high quality stylized art and high quality models and textures
- Create models that appropriately capture the feeling of the 2D concept art
What we're looking for
- World class modeling skills, preferably in MAX or Maya
- Solid communicator with an ability to work between disciplines
- Great texturing skills and experience with PBR & materials
- Ability to take 2D concept art to completion
- Ability to create functional, articulated mechanical models
- Ability to provide feedback to outsourcers
