This position will support Enviva Legal Department’s procurement activities focusing on all aspects of vendor contracting processes. The position reports to the Associate General Counsel, Construction, Claims & Disputes and will work closely with Enviva’s Procurement Department. This position is responsible for providing tactical and execution level legal support of all phases of Enviva vendor engagement and management initiatives. This position is also responsible for the development of tools, templates, and training to increase the efficiency and compliance of the vendor/contractor contracting processes.
Draft, review, negotiate, counsel and oversee a wide variety of vendor contracts, ranging from routine to complex transactional matters
Proactively and collaboratively process a large volume of vendor contracts under demanding time constraints
Provide innovative, pragmatic, timely, and business-oriented legal counsel to internal clients and stakeholders in a positive and constructive manner
Work closely with the Procurement Department to build an effective procurement team capable of supporting a rapidly growing business
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple matters simultaneously and effectively in a high-volume environment.
Counsel business units to support business initiatives and internal compliance, in addition to a wide range of legal issues
Operate independently in a fast-paced and high-growth environment
Work collaboratively with colleagues on complex legal matters and to promote the development, sharing, and replication of best practices and learnings across the Enviva Legal Department
JD from a U.S. law school and admission to practice law in a U.S. State or the District of Columbia
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience supporting vendor procurement (drafting, revising and negotiation experience). Ideal candidate will have experience with construction contracts and fabricated equipment.
