Job Description:

Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President of Strategy & Finance holds a pivotal role. The position will facilitate business planning, providing forward-looking business analysis, and establishing impactful financial and operational metrics crucial for informed decision-making. This hybrid position will spearhead the development and validation of strategic projects and provide adept management of day-to-day financial operations. The VP will cultivate robust internal strategy and finance relationships and foster cross-functional collaboration across business units.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth data analysis, both internal and external, to support strategic initiatives and facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with operational and support departments to comprehend goals, key success drivers, information systems, and reporting processes.
  • Enhance the quality, timeliness, and reliability of financial analysis and performance metrics, including forecasting, budgeting, and resource allocation across all functional domains.
  • Drive process automation to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Formulate long-term plans and strategies to foster company growth and success.
  • Oversee finance and accounting functions, encompassing annual budgeting, forecasting, business planning, reporting, capital planning, audits, and cost control.
  • Align strategic and business plans with financial planning and accounting processes.
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets, analyze variances, and provide insights for decision-making.
  • Develop comprehensive performance assessment and reporting mechanisms for the company.
  • Oversee the year-end audit process and recommend innovative practices aligned with company objectives.
  • Ensure optimal team performance and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Establish robust reporting structures, including monthly reporting, annual forecasting/budgeting, project reporting, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for Ownership review.
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures to ensure compliance with financial, procurement, security, and risk management standards and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business with a specialization in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Strategy. MBA preferred.
  • 3-5+ years of progressive experience in strategy and business analysis with a proven track record of success.
  • 5+ years of consulting experience.
  • CPA designation as asset, with 8 to 10 years of experience in senior finance roles within a multi-stream business environment. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Business Intelligence tools.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software, preferably MS Dynamics Great Plains or MS Navision an asset.
  • Familiarity with ERP Systems implementation is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in financial modeling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
  • Passion for travel and adaptability to change.
  • Collaborative leadership style with a focus on building trust and resolving conflicts effectively.
