Job Purpose/Mission 

In collaboration with Sales, Marketing and Products functions, the Global Market Insights Manager is responsible for providing strategic guidance and direction to inform commercial decision making on what to sell (product design and offerings) where to sell (market segmentation and penetration) and who to sell to (customer segmentation).

By undertaking strategic market analysis, secondary and primary research, taking ownership of customer needs assessment, this role will be proposing strategies that are commercially viable, customer centric and deliver competitive advantage. The ideal candidate is commercially minded and can translate hard data and insights into actionable strategies resulting in the best product fit across all EEA Markets.

Responsibilities: 

Customer Needs Assessment

  • Own research to understand market and segment specific product needs.
  • In collaboration with Global Customer Experience, incorporate feedback drawn from CSAT & NPS surveys into the product management process, closing the loop by engaging GPM on any technical aspects and/or product enhancements.
  • In collaboration with Global Product Management, contribute to the customer needs assessment section of the Product Development Process to ensure best-fit for market products are sourced, piloted and launched.
  • Own product performance management not limited to (I) ensuring revenue contribution by product is achieved, (ii) designing strategy to increase profitability, (iii) own the collating of insights to inform product end of life strategy.
  • Evaluate full product portfolio at Country level to improve profitability and sales forecast and inventory accuracy.

Market Insights

  • In collaboration with Marketing (Operational & Brand), define EEA customer segments, create personas and define creative, compelling messaging that clearly articulates and reinforces EEA’s product positioning, unique value proposition and differentiators.
  • Support market entry and penetration efforts through research market sizing, ability to pay, energy spend, to determine market viability at group and country level.
  • Research, monitor and collate competitor activity to develop both an ongoing view of threats and opportunities as well as to inform specific proposition development and go-to-market strategies.

Knowledge and skills 

  • At least 5years experience in a similar role or in product marketing, research and project management.
  • Proven track record in delivering effective projects on product management, market research/intelligence and strategic insights.
  • Excellent analytical, decision making and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret business challenges and therefore identify market insight requirements.
  • Ability to utilize data to measure activity and extract key insights to iterate and refine initiatives.
  • Ability to identify target audiences, develop strategy and employ tactics that engage, inform and motivate.
  • Previous experience working with Bottom of Pyramid customers.
  • Ability to collaborate with teams across a variety of locations and cultures.
  • Excellent project management skills paired with great attention to detail.
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently.
  • Passion for EEA’s mission and customers.

Experience:

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree ideally within Marketing, business administration, economics or a related field.
  • Project Management Certificate as an added advantage.
