Job Purpose/Mission 

This position is an important part of the Quality Assurance sub-team, itself on the Manufacturing Quality team based in Shenzhen, China, led by the Manufacturing Quality Manager and working closely with other Operations teams. This is a great opportunity for a talented individual to join a high-performing team that is passionate about bringing products of the highest quality to off-grid customers at the base of the pyramid. 

 

Key responsibilities will include drawing insights for action from delving into suppliers’ quality-assurance operations and driving improvements among those same suppliers using strong data analytics and effective methods of communication. Your insights will make a meaningful impact by enabling Fenix to continuously push for higher standards from their hardware suppliers.    

Responsibilities  

  • Support the collection of quality data from suppliers in mass production. 
  • Support the SQA Supervisor in conducting regular quality audits on suppliers in mass production. 
  • Carry out detailed analysis of supplier performance, identify any areas of concern and raise these with Quality Engineers and Product Managers.  
  • Participate in Quality Review Meetings with suppliers, Quality Engineers and Product Managers to give regular feedback and track any changes or improvements made. 
  • Assist the SQA Supervisor with the reporting of manufactured items’ upstream quality status to other Operations and R&D teams. 
  • Continuously look for ways to improve EEA supplier quality-assurance processes to maintain and enhance the quality of goods in mass production. 

Knowledge and skills 

Experience: 

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a science or manufacturing-related field 
  • Experience and competency in data collection and analysis 
  • Knowledge of quality-assurance methods 
  • Experience working with hardware suppliers is desirable 
  • Experience in high-volume consumer-electronics manufacturing is highly desirable 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in any scientific, engineering, or related field 

Language(s): 

  • Mandarin 
  • English  

Technology: 

  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel 
  • Knowledge of statistical computing environments (e.g.: R, MATLAB) is highly desirable 
  • Knowledge of other high-level programming languages (e.g.: Visual Basic, Python) also desirable
