Your Impact

The Vice President of Engineering and Product is a strategic and visionary role, responsible for leading and driving the development of the vintrace product. This Executive role reports directly to the Chief Product & Technology Office and is responsible for shaping our product strategy, overseeing engineering and product management teams, and ensuring the successful execution of our product roadmap. This role requires this individual to deliver high-impact products, foster innovation, and lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

The Opportunity

Essential functions of this role include:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute the overall product and technology strategy and vision for vintrace aligned with Encompass’ business goals and market opportunities.
  • Establish OKRs, metrics, and KPIs to measure product and engineering performance and progress towards strategic goals. Report on metrics to executive leadership.

Product Leadership:

  • Develop and achieve the company's product strategy and roadmap including leading the ideation, design, development, and launch of new products and features.
  • Oversee the product lifecycle from conception through launch, including market research, product planning, and performance analysis.
  • Drive product innovation by identifying market trends, customer feedback, and competitive landscape insights.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize product features, enhancements, and bug fixes based on business impact and customer value.

Engineering Leadership:

  • Lead the development and delivery of the technology roadmap that is capable of scale and supports the product and overall business strategy.
  • Lead and manage the engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the successful delivery of high-quality, scalable, and reliable software products within established timelines and budgets.
  • Implement best practices for software development, including agile methodologies, code quality, and DevOps practices.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with sales, marketing, customer support, and other departments to drive product adoption and customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with executive leadership to align product strategies with overall company goals and to report on product performance and progress.

Team Development:

  • Recruit, develop and retain strong strategic and technical talent; define a high-performing product and engineering culture of excellence, innovation and collaboration where team members can do their best work.
  • Establish clear performance metrics and provide regular feedback to team members.

Customer Focus:

  • Advocate for the customer’s needs and ensure that product development is centered around delivering exceptional user experiences.
  • Engage with key customers and industry leaders to gather insights and validate product direction.

Key Experience & Skills

Preferred qualifications and experience required for success in this role include: 

Experience - 10+ years of experience in product management and engineering leadership roles, with a demonstrated track record of successfully launching and scaling technology products.

Education - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Skills - Preferred skills include the below:

  • Experience with a range of development technologies including:  JSF, React, Typescript, Java, Kotlin, AWS Lambda, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, S3, JBoss, Spring Boot, MySQL.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies and engineering best practices.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute product strategies that drive business growth.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience managing large, cross-functional teams and working with executive leadership.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Preferred: Experience working in global organisations with hybrid and fully-remote team members.

Salary

This role will receive a competitive salary + superannuation + bonus. A variety of factors are considered when determining someone’s compensation, including a candidate’s professional background, experience, and location.
