Director of Technology, System Architecture

As Director, Technology (System Architecture), you will play the vital role of embracing and leading innovation of technology ecosystem at Employer Direct Healthcare (EDH). The candidate will be an evangelical leader with developer mindset and proven expertise in scaling organizations to build the enterprise. You will also be accountable for the creation and delivery of the strategic and architectural vision and leadership in all aspects of the development of the software (Applications, Data and DevOps). You will be a SME at healthcare patient workflow, payer & provider organization workflows, and data exchanges. You are dissatisfied with status quo and think Healthcare delivery can be done better.

Location: Remote | USA | Travel Required

Responsibilities:

  • Lead innovation to build high volume, scalable workflow applications and systems.
  • Work with Technology leadership to build and maintain an innovation roadmap.
  • Employ leading-edge technology and software development principles to construct code optimized for high volume traffic and industry-leading customer experiences.
  • Define and Use core capabilities, frameworks, and technologies necessary for building and maintaining a robust enterprise architecture practice.
  • Participate in review product requirements, solution design, architecture and code and provide feedback to the team.
  • Lead & manage DevOps effort towards modernization of delivery pipeline.
  • Monitor and communicate technology platform health metrics to executive management and participate in executive meetings.
  • Coach and train technology team on new tech, best practices, and mentor and grow those around you.
  • Work with other Technology departments to support various projects and initiatives.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills - able to effectively communicate complex concepts in simple ways.
  • Self-directed, self-motivated, focused leader who with little direction can fill in the gaps as to what is needed, and drive expected results.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in information technology or engineering or computer science or information systems or technology management is preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Extensive knowledge of building technology solutions for healthcare delivery and/or payer and/or point solutions is required.
  • 5+ years of technology management experience with focus on bring latest innovations through digital platforms implementation, maintenance, development, and integrations.
  • 5+ years of leading team of architects, software, data engineers, etc.
  • 5+ experience in building enterprise scale application as an Individual contributor.
  • 3+ experience in leading Devops teams / initiatives.
  • Deep knowledge on best practices & pitfalls on building monoliths, micro-services and everything in between.
  • Amazing communication and leadership skills and ability to adapt as required.
  • Must have excellent verbal, written, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
