WHAT YOU WILL DO:

As a Tier 1 Audio Visual Field Technician, you will play a key role in supporting our project delivery teams by installing and maintaining a wide variety of AV technologies across client sites. You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality installations, troubleshooting technical issues, and maintaining strong communication with project stakeholders.

 

**THIS POSITION REQUIRES UP TO 70% TRAVEL.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Opportunity to develop a career in our fast-paced industry
  • Undergo training to allow progression to the next level of Install Technician
  • Develop knowledge of how to read and interpret architectural site drawings and audio-visual system diagram
  • Develop skills to coordinate tasks and activities onsite and communicate to the client and allied trades – Construction, Architect, Design, IT & Furniture
  • Conduct accurate site survey to include progress of construction activities and required consumables for completion of install
  • Understand the differences between various types of cables and then learn what connectors go with what types of cables
  • Develop skills associated with termination of various connectors – Soldering, Crimp, Compression
  • Test terminated cables to ensure no dry joint in solder, or poor termination in compression/crimp
  • Develop awareness of tools required to properly terminate, and manage safekeeping of these tools
  • Understand how to use a cable pull schedule and physically pull cables in a construction environment – Including hanging, wrapping, socking and suitably supporting a variety of cables
  • Physical install of a wide variety of mounting hardware in accordance with manufacture and construction guidelines – including bracketry for display, projectors, speakers, floormounts/stands
  • Preparation of hardware for rackbuilding – include recording of asset data
  • Develop skills for basic rackbuilding – including cable management, routing, labeling and cable support structures
  • Maintain an organized work environment with specific attention to cleanliness and organization of jobsite
  • Responsible for ownership and maintenance of issued toolkit and installation materials inventories while onsite
  • Ensure timesheets are accurately recorded daily and submitted via Paychex
  • Provide daily reporting of site progress to site lead technician or project manager, along with photographs

  • This position requires overtime with last minute changes to schedules

 

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Experience in the AV/VC industry preferable but not a necessity
  • Engineering mindset with ability to solve engineering problems is a must
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to customer service is a must
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, demanding environment, under immense pressure
  • The pace requires independent and confident thinking, self-motivation and determination
  • Must be agile, and exhibit a strong sense of urgency
  • Be eligible, willing and able to work and travel globally when required
  • Responsible and reliable, capable of working alone as well as part of a team
  • Good organization and time management skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Be flexible and adaptable to change and hours of work, to meet the needs of the customer
