POSITION OVERVIEW

BBR Partners is seeking a Sr. Investment Analytics professional to deepen and scale our approach to analyzing portfolios across alternative assets (incl. hedge funds, private equity, real assets, and other illiquid investments), as well as public markets. This is a technical, hands-on role suited to someone with allocator experience, a strong quantitative grounding, and the judgment to help us implement consistent, scalable analytics - without overengineering or disrupting trusted workflows.

The ideal candidate brings rigor, humility, and a builder's mindset. They should be comfortable rolling up their sleeves to improve how we model cash flows, compute attribution, and support investment decisions. You’ll work closely with our Research, Data, and Engineering teams to improve repeatability, data integrity, and insight across public and private exposures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Hands-on Analysis, Reporting & Tooling
    • Build analytic tools and prototypes in Python and SQL to support fund comparisons, exposure aggregation, scenario testing, and manager reviews.
    • Work alongside Engineering and Data teams to integrate successful tools into our broader platform when ready for scale.
    • Ensure analytic outputs are explainable, repeatable, and trusted across the firm.
    • Deliver time-sensitive analysis or reports for our Investment, Research or Advisory organizations while instilling a level of quality and rigor for long-term benefit.
  • Investment Analytics & Methods
    • Aide in the maturation of structured approaches to analyzing manager performance, including transparency (look-through), IRR, PME variants, pacing/liquidity modeling, and benchmark-relative metrics.
    • Establish clear, well-documented methodologies that reflect best practices in institutionalizing these analyses across public and private markets, tailored to our investment philosophy and operating context.
    • Translate portfolio questions into analytical workflows that generate actionable insights—not just outputs.
    • Contribute to the successful evaluation and integration of 3rd party analytical suites to enhance the level of reporting capabilities internally and available to our clients.
  • Team Leadership & Standards
    • Provide day-to-day guidance and coaching to Analytics Engineers supporting BBR’s Investment Analysis.
    • Set quality standards for how analysis is conducted, reviewed, and communicated.
    • Promote a mindset of continuous improvement—raising the bar for both accuracy and usability over time.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Act as a close partner to the Research and Advisory Teams, understanding their questions and helping them arrive at well-supported conclusions.
    • Work cross-functionally with Client Analytics, Data and Software teams to align analytics with upstream data models and downstream applications.
    • Communicate technical and analytical concepts clearly to audiences with varying levels of technical fluency.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • 8+ years of progressively senior experience in investment analytics, allocator research, or portfolio analysis within a hedge fund, private-markets platform, OCIO, or multi-asset manager.
  • Demonstrated depth in developing and systematizing alternative-asset analytics: cash-flow modeling, IRR / xIRR, PME variants, TVPI / DPI, vintage pacing, liquidity forecasting, benchmark construction, and look-through exposure analysis.
  • Multi-asset portfolio expertise: Hands-on analysis across public markets and private/illiquid assets (hedge funds, PE/VC, real assets), including aggregation, look-through, and cross-asset benchmarking.
  • Proven ability to present and defend methodologies to portfolio managers, research leads, or investment committees
  • Working knowledge of market/reference data, benchmark analysis, synthetic/basket composition and corporate actions impact on return analysis.
  • Hands-on Python and SQL skills - Able to prototype analyses beyond Excel and manage code with Git (basic branching, pull requests, version control discipline).
  • Experience mentoring or coaching analysts/developers and setting standards for analytic quality, documentation, and peer review.

Preferred

  • CFA charter holder (or meaningful progress) or an advanced degree/experience in finance, economics, statistics, or quantitative field(s).
  • Exposure to modern data and analytics tooling—Snowflake, dbt, Github.
  • Familiarity with index data, market pricing feeds, market microstructure and public–private aggregation techniques.
  • Experience evaluating or integrating third-party analytic suites into an established data ecosystem.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
