Our Opportunity

GPJ is hiring a Graphic Production Artist to join our growing team.

Your Role

As a Production Artist, my main job is to create and prepare graphic files for printing or digital display. This involves using graphic design software to make sure the artwork looks good in both print and online formats. I take 2D designs and instructions from various sources and turn them into usable files. Sometimes, I have to tweak existing artwork to meet quality standards, like adjusting sizes or resolutions. I'm also responsible for making sure the files get to the right place for production or display. I help out with templates and guidelines for clients' design teams and review proofs to make sure everything looks good. If there are large format graphics involved, I use engineering drawings to figure out sizes and installation details. Communication is key in my role, so I stay in touch with everyone involved in the project to make sure we're all on the same page. I also keep track of project progress and handle administrative tasks like time tracking and training.

Your Skills

  • Use graphic design software to generate and output graphic art files to be utilized in print production or other mediums such as small format or online publication
  • Interpret, translate, and compose graphic intent from 2D design and other relevant shareholders into working files as required
  • Manipulate existing digital artwork to meet the minimum requirements or intended quality expectations.  This may include size corrections, resolution fixes, bleed adjustments,  making sure colors are consistent, etc
  • Assure file delivery to intended print production or display location/team
  • Assist with templates, guidelines or other relevant information that may be required by a client’s internal design team or to assist 2D creative teams
  • Approve graphic proofs including those internal to GPJ or from outside stakeholders when necessary
  • Interpret engineered drawings/CAD to extrapolate sizing and installation intent for large format graphics
  • Communicate effectively and proactively with all relevant stakeholders to assure all information is communicated or acquired in a timely manner
  • Update all necessary tracking documentation to assure collaborators are informed and consistently up to date on a project’s status
  • Other responsibilities will include job time tracking, training, continual learning/research for skill improvement, and additional tasks as directed.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
