Role Description

The Dropbox Strategic Sourcing team is looking for an experienced Sourcing professional to focus on establishing trusted business partner relationships across our Go- To-Market (GTM) vertical. This role will ensure early participation across the full lifecycle of strategic sourcing and procurement, including: category planning, sourcing strategies, RFP execution, supplier evaluation and selection, contract negotiations and management, and continuous improvements. 

You will play a critical role in ensuring sourcing tactics aligns with GTM’s mission of bringing together the best of product- and sales-led growth in order to establish a best-in-class customer experience, increase customers using Dropbox for more than storage, and deliver profitable revenue growth. Our GTM pillar includes Sales & Channel, Marketing, Growth, and Communication. You will negotiate leading edge agreements across Media, Sponsorship, Sales and Customer Experience Services, as well as Technology.

This role acts as a global category lead and will be focused on material deals and suppliers, partnering with leaders across the company to develop a deep understanding of select suppliers, product and service offerings, roadmaps as well as Dropbox’s business requirements and strategy. 

This role will report into the Head of Sourcing and Vendor Management under the CFO organization and will look beyond a single tower or issue to identify gaps and drive continuous optimization and cost savings initiatives. As a sourcing leader, you will link together cross functional teams to drive strategic sourcing efforts across our business, deploy best practices, manage the supplier relationships and mobilize stakeholders to deliver tangible value that aligns with GTM strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Embrace Procurement technology and effectively communicate the benefits to the business teams
  • You will build and develop relationships with Business Partners globally, including operational leaders, Sales & Channel, Marketing, Growth, and Comms teams. You will act as the main relationship owner with Senior leaders of each category of spend
  • You will work to operationalize the GTM strategy ensuring sourcing strategies support key initiatives within each vertical
  • Negotiate and drive best-in-class deals for Dropbox.  This is a strategic role and will include many of Dropbox’s largest enterprise-level engagements 
  • Define and communicate the Sourcing Strategy to Business Partners, Sourcing Leadership and other stakeholders
  • Drive the realization of top savings initiatives and continuously improve the category return on investment
  • Ensure the appropriate level of accountability, ROI and compliance with standard operating purchasing practices across all purchases
  • Lead supplier selection, assessment, and contract negotiation processes, ensuring compliance with Dropbox's policies and risk management protocols
  • Evaluate existing supplier base and identify RFx opportunities in partnership with business teams and Finance, allowing Dropbox to maximize negotiating leverage
  • Deliver on strategic sourcing OKRs including cost savings and spend under management, and implement any necessary process enhancements to ensure that those goals are achieved
  • Provide continuous written and verbal updates to the Business Partners, Suppliers and other Stakeholders on the status of each deal or key initiative 
  • Regularly update executives at all levels of the company on deal status, category reporting, etc.  This role will have direct visibility to senior-level executives across Dropbox

Requirements 

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in indirect sourcing, procurement, category management, or a related field
  • Proven track record of successful marketing supplier management and contract negotiation under the categories of Digital Media, Creative, Influencer, Events, Experiential, PR, and SaaS
  • Ability to lead category sourcing with autonomy and accountability for other categories under Dropbox’s GTM vertical such as Customer Experience and Sales & Channel spend 
  • Proven negotiation skills and a track record of achieving significant cost savings and supplier value without compromising on quality or service
  • Embracing, and exploring technology and able to consider how technology could improve operations 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic sourcing and category management strategies - experience in leading marketing spend RFPs is desired!
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and interpret complex data
  • Experience in supplier contracting with a solid understanding of standard commercial terms and conditions to mitigate risks and create clear service level agreements
  • Leadership and stakeholder management skills with the ability to elevate ambitions and influence cross-functional and internal team members
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to represent Dropbox effectively by interfacing with and influencing experienced business leaders
  • Ability to influence at an executive level both internally and externally
  • Treat problems like there’s no other option than to create a solution for the problem
  • Able to navigate ambiguity and remain resilient through ups and downs
  • Financial acumen and experience working closely with Finance and Accounting
  • A very high level of self-motivation, initiative, passion, excitement to work cross-functionally and excellent interpersonal skills are a MUST have for this role!
  • Willingness to offer thought leadership, to think creatively, and to offer new ways to approach old problems
