Product managers set the vision for our growing family of products. We’re responsible for guiding multidisciplinary teams toward a common goal: shipping high quality products and creating customer value. As advocates for both our users and our business, the best product managers balance a range of functional perspectives and empower their teams to do great, high impact work.

As a Staff Product Manager, you are working diligently to build the necessary search capabilities and platforms to help scale and unify Dropbox's suite of products. You will lead multiple teams to define new products and platforms with a company-wide impact. This includes setting the product vision and long-term strategy, as well as implementing your roadmap, iterating, and learning quickly. You will collaborate with cross-functional and cross-organizational teams to deliver innovative consumer and enterprise platform offerings in support of our AI/ML, Infrastructure, and Platform initiatives.

We are seeking highly entrepreneurial Product Management Leaders to help innovate and execute platform initiatives across the company. We value the ability to move quickly but with quality, execution rigor, and grit. You will partner with a world-class team of Engineers, Engineering Managers, Product Managers, Technical Program Managers, Designers, Data Scientists, and domain experts in Legal, Compliance, Privacy, and Security to solve complex problems for our customers.

This year, our focus is to make Dropbox the center of innovation, where content becomes the default utility of knowledge and collaboration for knowledge workers by building magical, reliable, and delightful experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize for Impact: You will be responsible for balancing your product roadmap with short-term wins and long-term foundational work. Your ability to prioritize effectively will ensure that we consistently deliver the highest value to our customers.
  • Own with High Agency: Take extreme ownership of capabilities, platforms, and experiments end-to-end. This involves adopting a hypothesis-driven and growth-minded development approach, where you will write product documents, lead cross-functional teams, and navigate trade-offs to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Understand the Customer: Collaborate closely with our data science, research, design, customer experience, and all other cross-functional teams to gain a deep understanding of our users. This insight will enable you to ensure that our products and platforms continuously deliver value and improve the user experience.
  • Drive Results: Take a critical role in navigating through challenges that arise during product execution. This includes making strategic trade-offs, forecasting staffing needs, managing risks, and maintaining open and clear communication with all internal stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of your roadmap.
  • Future Vision Development: Envision and develop the future of the platforms, experiences, and integrations. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities for innovation and ensuring our products remain at the forefront of the industry.
  • Market Understanding: Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform strategic planning and decision-making. Your ability to understand and anticipate market needs will be key in positioning our products for success and identifying new growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Business, Applied Mathematics or Statistics, or relevant field. MBA is a plus.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of PM experience.
  • Collaborate closely with Search vertical experiences teams to support and co-develop current and future Search experiences and capabilities.
  • Define and evolve the Unified Search area, balancing a portfolio of foundational investments, run-the-business, and exploratory bets priorities.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple partner stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates customer empathy for both internal and external customer needs and behaviors.
  • Capable of building alignment and listening well, but also able to make tough decisions by framing different options and trade-offs.
  • Skilled in analyzing and utilizing both quantitative and qualitative data to inform decisions.
  • A strong communicator with the ability to influence through cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong technical and domain expertise in platforms.
  • Exceptional ability to sell and influence without authority and secure senior leadership buy-in.
  • A proven track record of successful product outcomes from concept to completion.
  • Comfortable with business strategy, portfolio and investment prioritization, cost analysis, key performance tracking, and financial metrics.
  • Ability to zoom in and out to deeply understand industry trends, platform ecosystems, and competitive advantages.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent at communication; capable of rallying a team around the same cause and act as an evangelist for the product
  • Experience in working with GenAI and Search products and platforms.
  • Experience in developing AI/ML platforms.
