As a Senior Instructional Designer within HubSpot’s Learning & Talent Development (L&TD) Team, you’ll play a vital role in supporting HubSpotters’ development by designing and delivering innovative learning experiences. You are known for your forward-thinking approach and impeccable sense of style, making you the go-to person for creative design solutions. Your work will focus on creating dynamic content with a specialty in short-form, micro-learning video production tailored for our global workforce. With your expertise in instructional design, multimedia, and visual design, you’ll drive efforts to modernize our team’s brand, nurturing a culture of continuous learning across the organization.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of high-quality learning materials and experiences, with a focus on short-form video content for a global audience.
  • Analyze learning needs and set clear objectives to ensure content meets educational goals.
  • Create multimedia content that aligns with learning objectives, including scripting, storyboarding, and incorporating visual design elements and motion graphics tailored for video.
  • Oversee the video production process, including planning, filming, editing, animation and/or post-production, ensuring a high standard of quality and visual aesthetics.
  • Experiment with and incorporate the latest video production techniques, visual design tools, and styles to enhance content delivery and engage modern learners.
  • Be a source of inspiration for colleagues by leading innovative approaches and a keen sense for design trends.
  • Collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), partners, and stakeholders across the People Team and Learning & Talent Development to drive alignment and relevance.
  • Apply data analysis and informed judgment to make recommendations that maximize the impact of learning solutions.
  • Flex instructional design skills to deliver information in the right modality for diverse audiences, enhancing the learning experience.
  • Communicate and facilitate effectively, adapting content for a wide range of learners across the organization.
  • Utilize strong program and project management skills to stay organized, meet deadlines, and ensure timely delivery of all learning materials.

We are looking for people who have:

  • 5+ years of experience in instructional design, multimedia content creation, visual design, and/or educational video production, preferably in a corporate or fast-paced environment.
  • A portfolio that showcases creativity in multimedia content, with emphasis on micro-learning videos and visual design. Including work examples in your application is optional but highly encouraged. We’d love to see your creativity in action! 
  • Proficiency in video production and visual design tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar, as well as familiarity with audio editing, animation, visual storytelling, and design software.
  • An innovative mindset with a reputation for being the go-to person for style and creativity within the team.
  • Skills in instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles, with experience applying them to develop diverse and visually appealing learning materials.
  • Proven experience with scripting, storyboarding, and designing visuals that are aligned with learning objectives and modern aesthetic standards.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for working effectively with cross-functional teams and Subject Matter Experts.
  • Experience analyzing data to measure the effectiveness of learning content and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to experiment with new approaches, respond to feedback, and continuously improve learning experiences.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and keeping up with industry trends, video production techniques, visual design practices, and new instructional design tools, including AI.

Cash compensation range: 118500-189600 USD Annually

The cash compensation above includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, some roles are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate, including their skills, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
