As a Software Engineer, you will join our Identity Team to develop services that enable various teams at Compass to efficiently provide top-notch collaboration experiences for agents and their clients. These foundational systems power identity management, authentication, authorization, agent data, and collaboration experiences across the Compass platform. You will be responsible for high-availability, low-latency services that handle millions of requests from all users of the platform, where accuracy is vital. This work encompasses everything from managing the data of our agents to enabling collaboration for the agent and buyer experience. In addition to this, you work closely with senior team members to learn and develop while delivering optimal solutions.

We are looking for a developer in the early stages of their engineering career who is enthusiastic about solving technical problems, learning about new and existing cloud-based services and technologies, and honing their skills as an engineer. You have a strong sense of ownership for the product you work on. Most importantly, you are passionate about learning and are eager to share your knowledge with others. 

At Compass, You Will:

  • Work with Senior Engineers to maintain and enhance the wide array of services and technologies owned by the Listing Services Team.
  • Improve the product responsible for CRUD operations of Compass listings.
  • Operate in a scalable engineering culture that leverages modern principles of decoupled systems and automated CI/CD/testing/monitoring to drive efficiencies.
  • Work closely with Product, Design, and adjacent Engineering teams to deliver business critical features to our customers
  • Hone your engineering skills by learning from Senior Engineers.

What We Look For:

  • BA/BS/MS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience programming in Java, C#, Python, or Go.
  • Experience writing SQL.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • 1-2 years of software engineering experience is a plus.
  • Experience working on public cloud platforms – AWS in particular – is a plus.
  • Experience with one or more of these technologies is a plus: Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Kubernetes, S3, Redis, Lambda, Kafka, and Databricks

Compensation: 

The base pay range for this position is $70,200 - $105,300 salary; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonuses and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of benefits. Base pay is based on market location. Minimum wage for the position will always be met.
