POSITION SUMMARY  

Umoja Biopharma is hiring an HR Business Partner who will be responsible for supporting Colorado and the Technical Operations organization. This position will report into the Director of Human Resources who is based out of the Seattle headquarters. In this newly created role, they will be the primary business partner to the Chief Technical Officer, the Colorado General Manager, and their respective leadership teams. This person will provide business partner support as we build our new manufacturing facility in Louisville, CO called the Colorado Laboratory & Innovative Manufacturing Building (The CLIMB). The ideal candidate will have a variety of HR competencies including business partnership, talent acquisition, talent management, employee relations, and organizational development. Someone who has had demonstrated success in a startup or fast growth environment managing complex organizational matters would be successful in this role. This position will be primarily onsite with the ability to work from home as needed. 

 
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES 

Specific responsibilities include:    

  • Provide business partnership support to the Chief Technical Officer, General Manager, and the respective Colorado leadership teams 
  • Partnering with leadership on org design, workforce planning, talent management, and culture with a focus on DE&I
  • Partner with managers to recruit, retain, develop, and motivate talent
  • Manage annual HR processes for performance management, compensation, promotions, etc. 
  • Manage employee relations issues and provide ongoing support to any HR related matters, policies, and procedures
  • Lead recruiting efforts for Colorado open positions, partner closely with TA Coordinator on job postings, interview scheduling, job offers, and other related recruiting activities
  • Partnering for community outreach activities with local government, industry, and educational partners.
  • Manage a variety of HR projects that support building a strong HR function 

The successful candidate will have: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business, or related field 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a variety of HR disciplines
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a business partner role
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and respective federal and state employment laws 

Preferred Qualifications:    

  • The ability to influence and partner with different levels of the organization to achieve results
  • Experience working in a high growth environment requiring strong multi-tasking skills
  • The ability to prioritize multiple projects and demands from the business
  • Strong judgment and decision making, that anticipates unintended consequences, ripple effects and impacts, looks around corners, and is comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
  • Strong business and HR acumen, including strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and self-initiative 
  • The ability to uphold Umoja Values & Principles
  • Experience with sensitive employee relations issues and investigation skills 

Physical Requirements:    

  • Ability to work onsite in a manufacturing environment and wear appropriate PPE 
  • Ability to work onsite and from home in a hybrid environment
  • Ability to travel on occasion to Seattle or conferences 

Salary Range: $103,500 - 126,500
