As an integral member of the People Team, the Senior Compensation Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the design, implementation, and administration of Tempus compensation programs. This role contributes to the development of compensation programs that are externally competitive, internally equitable, and aligned with business objectives to drive performance and results.
The Senior Compensation Analyst will collaborate closely with the Head of Total Rewards, HR Business Partners, Recruiters, and Managers, providing expert guidance on compensation-related matters while delivering exceptional customer service. This role will also participate in or lead key initiatives, including market survey participation, compensation benchmarking, and the annual compensation review process, offering broad-based support to meet the evolving needs of Tempus.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with HR, recruiting, and business leaders to determine competitive salary offers for new hires and internal transfers, using data-driven insights from internal data and market benchmarks.
- Review, evaluate, and analyze survey data and internal metrics to slot new jobs into appropriate job families and job levels
- Support the annual compensation review process, including requirements gathering, data analysis, and stakeholder communications.
- Lead submissions for market benchmarking surveys, ensuring accurate and timely participation.
- Ensure compensation practices comply with applicable laws and regulations, such as FLSA, pay transparency requirements, and other relevant labor laws
- Maintain accurate compensation-related data within HR systems, including job codes, salary structures, and other compensation data
- Develop tools and processes to improve scalability and efficiency for responding to recurring and ad hoc compensation and data requests.
- Participate in efforts to streamline and enhance existing compensation processes or develop new methodologies that align with evolving business needs.
- Maintain and standardize compensation communication materials, including training templates and internal communications.
- Manage special projects or assignments as required.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of compensation-related experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance or related discipline preferred
- Ability to utilize advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills to analyze complex compensation data and deliver actionable insights and strategic recommendations to stakeholders
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Self-motivated and proactive, capable of driving initiatives independently.
- Scrappy and resourceful, able to navigate challenges and find creative solutions.
- Intellectually curious, always seeking to learn and stay current with industry trends.

The expected salary range below is applicable if the role is performed from [Illinois] and may vary for other locations. Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience.
