This role is hybrid, with 3 days in the office per week (Kraków, Fabryczna)
The Basics:
Tanium is looking to add a leader within our Finance and Operations Center of Excellence in Poland reporting to the Corporate Controller. You will be pivotal in driving financial excellence and ensuring the achievement of our strategic objectives. You will be expected to wear many different hats, with a focus on accounting and owning key responsibilities within the general ledger, statutory accounting process and supporting the execution of payroll, AP and related financial compliance. This role requires a strong emphasis on mentorship and guidance to nurture the growth and development of the broader finance and operations team in Poland. Additionally, you will be responsible for fostering collaboration and working cross-functionally with various departments to support business initiatives and achieve organizational success.
What you’ll do:
- Oversee the execution of the Finance and Operations Center of Excellence against defined goals and objectives.
- Motivate and mentor local team members, promoting professional growth and development.
- Collaborate with finance and operations leadership to understand key priorities and initiatives and guide their local teams to positive outcomes.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence within the team.
- Act as a local point of contact for administrative tasks and jurisdiction requirements in collaboration with US based team members.
- Manage statutory reporting and coordinate local audits of Poland and surrounding EMEA territories.
- Monitor and track customers and partners billings to ensure compliance against approved credit limits.
- Maintain and update business process narratives and internal control requirements by collaborating with key stakeholders.
- Prepare and/or review monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and journal entries.
- Assist global payroll team with compliance against local laws and regulatory requirements in Poland and surrounding EMEA territories.
- Support AP, Travel and Expense with team member inquiries in Poland and surrounding EMEA territories.
- Liase with global treasury team and local Polish banks for daily cash operations.
- Lead educational workshops for equity awards and run financial wellness sessions in Poland and surrounding EMEA territories.
We’re looking for someone with:
- University Degree in Accounting or Finance and/or equivalent work experience is required
- 7+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance operations
- Experience in statutory accounting and working with external auditors in Poland
- Team-oriented with excellent communication skills and has experience with mentorship and coaching
- Able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and problem-solve to positive outcomes
- Ability to work independently with a high attention to detail and organization
- Thrives working in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates initiative
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with an expert understanding of Excel
- Experience with Netsuite, Concur, and Workiva is a plus
