Job Responsibilities

As a Senior BIM Technician, you will setup, draft, convert, produce and edit MEP plans using AutoCAD and REVIT. This role will require excellent organizational skills, the ability communicate effectively and prioritize multiple project deadlines.  

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Produce setup drawings/sheets/views consistent with instruction, guidelines, and CAD/BIM standards.
  • Modify Architectural CAD/BIM files for use in MEP design drawings (clean-up, audit, reference, basic troubleshoot)
  • Setup new projects, drawings, and models, for use by MEP engineers, prioritize tasks and communicate workflows with design team.
  • Prepare client submissions: may include plotting and/or creating pdfs or reviewing documents to ensure accurate submissions.
  • Draft/generate redline plans, diagrams, and schedule drawings in AutoCAD and/or Revit from redline drawings.
  • Have a strong knowledge of Revit and be able to update 3D models, be proficient with AutoCAD and able to update CAD files.
  • Assist Project teams with design markups, calculations and on development of projects.
  • Manage Project file locations, filenames, layers, and symbology per SH Group CAD/BIM standards.
  • Intermediate project troubleshooting: questions and concerns common within the project team.
  • Work in coordination with external client CAD/BIM Coordinator for modeling and following CAD/BIM formats
  • Manage CAD/BIM coordination on projects specific to CAD/BIM skills (Includes working in coordination with external client CAD/BIM Coordinator for modeling and following CAD/BIM formats)

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and MEP tools. You will need effective organizational skills, ability to prioritize workload, and be a team player with strong communication skills.

Additional requirements:

  • High School or completion of trade school or equivalent formal training
  • A minimum of 8 years of working experience with an AEC Firm in a CAD/BIM role or 5 years with a MEP firm
  • Demonstrated advanced and efficient skills with the latest versions of Revit and MEP workflow
  • Demonstrated advanced skills with AutoCAD and MEP tools
  • Proficient at working with drawings and understanding of red marks
  • Proficient in reading and understanding floor plans, sections and elevations
  • Proficient in the latest National CAD/BIM standards
  • Experience with manipulating and receiving various file formats
  • Extensive work experience with at least one:  Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing trades
  • Experience with MS Office Suite
  • Available to work necessary hours to meet project deadlines
