CORROSION CONTROL TECHNICIAN (NIGHT SHIFT)
The corrosion control technician is responsible for the production tools and applications of various coating systems for asset protection. This technician will comply with quality corrosion expectations, identifying/removing/treating corrosion in preparing components for painting. This fast-paced environment requires the ability to perform painting and adhere to a tight schedule.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sandblast to acceptable industry standards
Operate spray coating equipment to industrial and commercial standards
Operate air tools, pressure feed tanks, and airless pumps
Quality brush and roll industrial and commercial coatings
Corrosion control on carbon steel/stainless steel using pneumatic air tools, needle guns, and scalers
Safe operation of aerial platforms, forklifts, and heavy equipment
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalency certificate
2+ years of corrosion control, painting, or sand blasting experience in an industrial environment
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
5+ years of industrial painting experience
Familiarity with the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE), material safety data sheet (MSDS), and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulation codes or industry standards
Understanding of heavy equipment safety standards
Ability to follow detailed instructions
Experience working at a rocket launch facility and supporting launch campaigns
Self-motivated individual able to work independently or in a team environment and willing to learn
Ability to assume responsibility, work with little or no supervision, be flexible, perform duties, and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful conditions
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Standard hours for this position are 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM
Must be available for overtime and weekends as the schedule varies depending on site operational needs; flexibility is required
Valid driver’s license
Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 25 lbs. unassisted
Must be able to work outdoors in extreme weather and perform heavy physical labor in a safe manner. Work in extreme temperatures due to weather conditions and operating equipment
Must be able to work in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
