MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN, SMT (STARLINK)
The Maintenance Technician will be involved in solving equipment and tooling problems for our SMT and PCBA team on a daily basis in order to improve SpaceX asset availability. SpaceX doesn’t shut down production for maintenance, and instead we find ways to predict failures and perform the maintenance without interrupting production. This role will require you to work directly with the engineers and other technicians who design and build unique machines to solve critical problems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and repair all assets to ensure their proper operating condition
- Program and troubleshoot control devices such as PLCs, HMIs
- Perform work order repairs, inspections and adjustments
- Provide maintenance on various PCBA, facility, and test equipment: wash, pick and place machines, thermal chambers, epoxy dispense equipment, reflow ovens, facility related equipment, HVAC, and other industrial machinery
- Document maintenance tasks and submit maintenance reports
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment
- Manage maintenance schedule priorities and independently tracking inventory of spare parts while executing work to meet company deliverables
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 2+ years of maintenance technician experience
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of maintenance technician experience
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skill sets
- Ability to write detailed repair reports (MS Office skills)
- Experience with hand/power tools, multi-meter, forklifts, and other heavy equipment
- PLC programming and troubleshooting experience
- Electrical schematic drawing experience
- Familiar with PCBA manufacturing process. Working on equipment such as MPM paste print, Koh Young SPI/AOI, ASM pick and place, Ersa reflow oven, Ersa selective solder, Essemtec dispense equipment, GPD dispense equipment, PVA conformal coat, thermal chambers, etc.
- Ability to maintain a safe and clean working environment while adhering to company policies, quality policies and industry standards
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work the following shift, overtime, and weekends as needed. Estimated Shift time; 1st shift (5 AM to 3 PM), Monday -Friday
- Valid Washington state driver’s license
- Ability to stand up for up to 8 hours during the day
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to work directly with the hardware on the floor while being comfortable stooping, bending, pulling, pushing, climbing and standing (including on lifts and ladders)
- Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Maintenance Technician/Level 1: $25.00 - $33.00/hour
Maintenance Technician/Level 2: $30.00 - $39.00/hour
Maintenance Technician/Level 3: $35.00 - $45.00/hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
