SMX is seeking an NMCI Point-of-contact to join the Embedded Support team for the F-18 program at VX-23. The chosen candidate will work closely with the customer, team members, as well as helpdesks and NMCI Field Services teams. The team member will assist in troubleshooting customer issues with NMCI devices. The Point of Contact will process NMCI change requests, order software, hardware, and services on behalf of our customer, and ensure that the customer is continually informed with task progress and concerns. National Help Desk incidents and service requests are completed/resolved in a timely manner as well as work on ad-hoc projects involving different systems and applications as the workload permits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments. Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.
Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems.
Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.
Monitors and responds to complex technical control facility hardware and software problems.
Interfaces with external support service groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance.
Performs a variety of systems engineering tasks and activities that are broad in nature and are concerned with major systems design, integration, and implementation, including personnel, hardware, software, budgetary, and support facilities and/or equipment.
Provides quality assurance review and the evaluation of new and existing software products.
Provides input to policy level discussions regarding standards and budget constraints.
Supervises all personnel engaged in the operation and support of network facilities, including all communications equipment on various platforms in large scale or multi-shift operations.
Supervises complex operations that involve two or more additional functions such as, but not limited to, network operations, systems security, systems software support, and production support activities.
Monitors and responds to hardware, software, and network problems.
Monitors help desk system for open issues, and customer communications.
Provides the routine testing and analysis of all elements of the network facilities (including power, software, communications machinery, lines, modems, and terminals).
Utilizes software and hardware tools and identifies and diagnoses complex problems and factors affecting network performance.
Troubleshoots network systems when necessary and makes improvements to the network.
Required Skills:
Clearance Required: DoD Secret Clearance
DoD 8570 Level II Certification or the ability to obtain and maintain within 6 months from offer. (Security + or similar)
Recent hands on experience with DoD enclave support.
Network hardware troubleshooting experience
Desired Skills:
Recent hands on experience with DoD enclave support.
Navy Enterprise Tool (NET) experience supporting NMCI processes
Experience with Navair National Helpdesk processes
3+ years’ experience required
