SMX is seeking a skilled Network and Computer Systems Administrator to be part of our Information Technology Team supporting NAWCAD at Patuxent River, MD. The Administrator tasking includes operations, administration, maintenance, compliance, break/fix, activities for servers, appliances, storage devices on premise, in labs and in cloud environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide IT Administration support for virtual and physical computers/servers/appliances or other devices including but not limited to install, config, maintenance, compliance, and decommissioning
Support VMware systems hosting virtualized workstations and/or servers
Support Windows and/or Linux based systems
Support Windows Active Directory
Support routing, switching and other site to site network connectivity components
Create STIG checklists and ACAS scans in support of the Navy RMF process and NIST standards
Install and support Operating Systems and Applications throughout the lifecycle
Perform backup and recovery functions
Prepare, update, and audit standard operating procedures, event response procedures and/or maintenance instruction documents
Required Skills:
Clearance Required: Top Secret/SCI eligible, Top Secret to start. The applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
Ability to maintain a Top Secret/SCI eligible Clearance
Knowledge of DoD Information Assurance practices, including Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG)
Must be able to interact with peers, management, and senior engineers in a constantly evolving environment to ensure a positive customer experience and atmosphere in the workplace.
Highschool diploma or higher
Less than 3 years of related IT experience
Experience with Windows and Linux based Operating Systems
DoD 8570 compliant (IAT Level 2) (Examples of minimum acceptable certifications-CCNA Security, CySA+, G SEC, Security+ CE, SSCP)
Desired Skills:
Past DoD system administration experience
