What are we looking for?

We are looking for a Director of Software Engineering with extensive leadership experience in SaaS product development and large-scale engineering projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our Singularity Platform, focusing on enhancing user efficiency for Security Analysts and SOC Analysts.

What will you do?

  • Lead and Inspire: Provide top-level leadership for a team of talented engineers, fostering an environment of innovation, accountability, and excellence.
  • Stakeholder Interaction: Collaborate with key customers and internal stakeholders to align product development with business needs.
  • Project Delivery: Manage and deliver complex software systems incorporating SaaS, databases, networking, UX, and client/server architectures within project deadlines.
  • Budget and Strategic Planning: Develop and manage fiscal plans, including labor costs, tools, and capital expenditures. Plan and budget for necessary headcount, adjusting team responsibilities to balance changing priorities effectively.
  • Staff Development: Know your team well, understand their aspirations, and help them achieve both their career and life goals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as Product Management, Sales, and Customer Support to ensure seamless integration and delivery of products.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging the team to explore new technologies and methodologies. Continuously assess and improve engineering processes to enhance efficiency and quality.

What experience and knowledge should you bring?

  • Technical and Organizational Excellence: Advocate for technical engineering excellence, ensuring robust, scalable designs and guiding career growth for team members. Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from design to deployment, ensuring smooth integration across all organizational functions.
  • Moral Integrity: Uphold a strong moral compass, maintaining trust and handling sensitive information with integrity and aligned with SentinelOne’s core values.
  • Customer-Centric Development: Ensure that all product developments deliver significant value to our customers, focusing on adoption, usability, and business impact.
  • Data-Driven Management: Implement and manage KPIs to track and report on team performance, ensuring data-driven decision-making and accountability.
  • Proactive Leadership: Advocate for continuous improvement, constructively challenging leadership and peers to enhance processes and outcomes.
  • Extensive Experience: Prefer 15+ years in software engineering, with a minimum of 6 years in cloud and big-data applications, and at least 2 years leading multiple engineering teams. 
    • Prefered experiences: leading globally dispersed software engineering teams of 30+ in size, supporting products/applications used within Security Operations Centers such as SIEM or related technologies, and a demonstrated ability to drive both engineering + business outcomes successfully.
  • Educational Background: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or a related field is a plus.

This U.S. role has a base pay range that will vary based on the location of the candidate.  For some

locations, a different pay range may apply.  If so, this range will be provided to you during the recruiting
