What are we looking for?

Our team solves non-trivial scale and data problems with a unique blending of cloud, distributed systems, and software optimisation techniques and services.

As a Sr. Staff Engineer (Sr Techlead-level/handson Architect-level), you will be responsible for building features of our Security Data Lake product, that process several Petabytes of data per day. You will play a key role in defining and executing development procedures, building the products and working with your team members in order to get things done. You will interact with peer engineers from within as well as across the org, tech leads and architects, product management, sales, and marketing.

If you are a lead engineer with a keen product eye, you’ll have amazing opportunities to directly impact how customers leverage our Security Data Lake platform in order to protect their business.

What will you do?

  • Design and implement scalable and efficient backend services 
  • Work with product managers & tech leads to break down and estimate tasks towards delivering any features to customers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and enhance the SentinelOne Security Data lake Cloud detection services
  • Evangelize best practices in technology, including design patterns, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Anticipate, refactor, and mitigate potential bugs and vulnerabilities to ensure code quality and reliability.
  • Help team members solve problems and support them in their growth.
  • Review the work of other team members and provide constructive feedback.
  • Master the architecture and dependencies of the feature area and contribute to its design and architecture

Our stack:

  • Most of our codebase is in Java, but you might also come across a bit Go and Scala
  • For communication between our microservices we're using gRPC, REST, GraphQL APIs, and Kafka, depending on the requirements
  • We use Redis for caches and PostgreSQL for metadata storage
  • We run our services in AWS and GCP, including FedRAMP-designated environments
  • Our Devops stack includes Docker, K8s, Jenkins, Github, terraform and more

What skills and knowledge should you bring? 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of experience in designing and developing high-performance micro-service-based backend systems.
  • You’re passionate about building high-scale elegant and simple distributed systems - and during the past several years you’ve successfully designed & implemented them to solve complex problems
  • You enjoy a collaborative development process using design discussions and code review
  • You’re looking for the technical challenges of ingesting and processing petabytes of data daily
  • You enjoy writing modern Java and/or Go
  • You possess solid foundation on building data pipelines, experience with solving high volume streaming challenges
  • You can identify relevant improvements/solutions in the literature & bring them into production when they fit
  • Deep understanding of technology trade-offs and costs of different options, to keep the system stable and scalable
  • Hands-on experience with Kafka and it’s ecosystem

Why us?

Salary from 6000 EUR/month.
Yearly % bonus depending on the performance of the company, paid out in 2 installments.
*The final base salary component can be increased accordingly to individual skills and experience of the selected candidate.
