We are seeking a Litigation Counsel to join our legal team. As Litigation Counsel, you will advise SeatGeek’s business and internal legal teams in order to reduce the risk of litigation across all aspects of the business. If disputes do arise, you will oversee the successful defense and resolution of those disputes. As the second attorney on SeatGeek’s litigation team, you will have a unique opportunity to make an immediate and significant impact addressing complex legal matters. You will be a key member of SeatGeek’s legal team and report to our Associate General Counsel, Litigation & Employment. 

What you'll do

  • Proactively identify litigation risks and work across business teams to mitigate these risks
  • Oversee all elements of litigation, pre-litigation, regulatory, and other dispute matters across multiple practice areas
  • Partner with the business on litigation and legal risk issues to craft solutions, balancing legal risk with company objectives
  • Develop litigation case strategies and formulate plans to resolve disputes efficiently,  including negotiating and evaluating pre-suit settlements
  • Build scalable processes to ensure that appropriate litigation and dispute resolution processes are implemented and are evolving to effectively meet business and legal team needs

What you have

  • J.D. degree from a top accredited institution and admission to practice (or in-house eligibility) to practice law in New York 
  • 5+ years experience in litigation, top law firm, and prior in-house experience preferred, tech experience a plus. Title and level will be commensurate with experience
  • Self-motivated with the ability to identify and complete work that needs to be done without being instructed
  • Demonstrated ability to balance and prioritize many simultaneous tasks, ensuring the right matters get your attention
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and excellent judgment - you’re able to quickly digest a problem, evaluate solutions, and then empower others to deliver
  • Ability to balance legal risk mitigation against key business objectives and risks
  • Passion for solving legal problems with the ability to explain legal concepts to non-lawyers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated track record of working effectively across business and legal teams
  • Superb analytical, writing and organizational skills

The salary range for this role is $134,000 - $205,000. Actual compensation packages within that range are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.
