SeatGeek is looking for a security engineering professional for our Security Operations team. As a Senior Security Engineer, you’ll be involved in a mix of incident response, threat hunting, security engineering, and a trace of red teaming.

You'll be part of an engineering team developing a modern security operations program with a strong focus on automation, coupled with a collaborative approach to working with our engineering partners. You’ll be operating in a fast paced, agile environment, with a goal of making security built-in by default. As a senior member of this team, you will have a huge impact on the security roadmap: maturing our detection and incident response programs and in improving security awareness across all of SeatGeek.

What you'll do

  • Take ownership and drive Security Operations initiatives, both within and outside the team
  • Lead our cloud security strategy and its implementation, partnering with our Cloud Product teams to build monitors and guardrails, ensuring a safe foundations on AWS
  • Hold an active role in our incident response & on-call programs, continuously improving our visibility, detections, and responses for critical systems
  • Engineer resilient solutions and enhance our existing security controls, tools, and processes at scale through automation (we use Python!)
  • Partner with teams from both our engineering and non-engineering orgs to influence security awareness and security best practices

What you have

  • Experience working in a threat detection role and have a solid understanding of security fundamentals
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Python, C#, Go) i.e you can code and perform code reviews
  • Experience working with highly technical engineering teams
  • Experience playing an active part in securing a cloud environment through more holistic solutions instead of whack-a-mole fixes
  • Ability to think like an attacker when playing defense, using that mindset to further drive meaningful improvements for detection & response
  • Experience contributing to the security community (public research, blogging, presentations, etc.) is a plus

The salary range for this role is $145,000 - $200,000. Actual compensation packages within that range are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.
