SalioGen Therapeutics is seeking a talented and motivated research associate to help validate its proprietary non-viral gene therapy pipeline. The successful candidate will help to administer and evaluate different non-viral vectors of gene editing cargos within the in-vivo model. In this cross-functional, fast-paced role, she/he will gain technical experience in optimizing non-viral gene therapy development as well as nucleic acid characterization.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-clinical evaluation of SalioGen technology using mouse models
- Proficient in mice dosing techniques including intravenous, intraperitoneal, and subcutaneous routes
- Knowledgeable in small animal surgery and anesthesia
- Proficient with blood and tissue collection for clinical chemistry analysis, immunohistochemistry and DNA/RNA extraction
- Capable of executing and troubleshooting study protocols while following regulatory guidelines
- Familiarity with IVIS imaging
- Coordinate and maintain inventory, including assisting in ordering supplies and maintaining a safe and high-performing laboratory
- Perform experiments, organize and analyze data, interpret results and summarize work in presentations and reports
- Document, summarize, and present studies and findings to internal and external audience
- Help with continual improvement of operational efficiency and lab practices
Qualifications:
- A.S./B.S. in Biology or related discipline with relevant research experience
- Prior experience (1-3 years) with mouse handling and injection routes is a must
- AALAS certification is a plus
- Experience with microsurgery is ideal
- Familiarity with animal models and/or in-vivo gene therapy delivery
- Flexibility in working schedule to accommodate study requirements
- Self-motivated and scientifically rigorous individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated record of independent research
- Prior experience working in core laboratories or biotech startups is preferred
- Capable of continuous learning, open-minded, curious, highly organized and detail-oriented
- Excellent oral and written communication skills across multiple teams/functions
