About the role 

Reporting to the Director, Revenue Accounting and Operations, the Manager, Revenue will play a pivotal role in driving the revenue accounting and reporting for our Media & Entertainment (M&E) Advertising activities. You will lead a team of revenue analysts, collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Ads Operations, FP&A, Enterprise Engineering and other), and ensure accurate revenue recognition and reporting, and timely financial close. We are looking for a high-energy, hands-on individual that can work independently and cooperatively with other teams to support the company’s revenue drivers and initiatives. An ideal candidate should possess great attention to details, strong knowledge of US GAAP, and be highly motivated to get things done.  

 

For California Only - The estimated annual salary for this position is between $140,000 and $152,000 annually. Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location. This role is eligible for health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off. 

 

This role is hybrid and will be based in our office in San Jose, CA or Austin, TX.

 

What you’ll be doing 

 

  • Manage a team of analysts, overseeing the daily operational accounting of the M&E advertising activities 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Ads Operations, FP&A, Enterprise Engineering and other) to align accounting practices with advertising strategies and business objectives, ensure reporting consistency and help resolve revenue recognition, invoicing or other related issues 
  • Ensure accurate and GAAP-compliant revenue recognition for different advertising business models, including the application of multiple element accounting  
  • Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities, including posting journal entries, preparing account reconciliations, disclosure schedules and flux analysis 
  • Support continuous process improvements, including the implementation of accounting and reporting applications 
  • Implement industry best practices on internal controls for the advertising order-to-cash business process 
  • Contribute to special projects as needed 

 

We’re excited if you have

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent 
  • CPA is preferred  
  • 7+ years of prior accounting and reporting experience  
  • Prior experience with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition 
  • Big 4 experience is a plus 
  • Prior experience in the digital advertising ecosystem is preferred 
  • Superior MS Excel and MS Word skills 
  • Salesforce and NetSuite experience 
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP and Revenue recognition under ASC 606 
  • Highly organized with great attention to details 
  • Strong analytical skills combined with good business judgment 
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and business partnering skills 
  • Motivated by challenging, dynamic and demanding environment 
  • Flexible and able to manage multiple and constantly changing priorities
