The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Systems Administrator II who will be responsible for supporting our organization's IT infrastructure. The role involves support of our virtual, cloud and on-prem server infrastructure, managing cloud platforms, storage, and application infrastructure. You will be a key member of the IT team, working closely with and aiding your colleagues when required. You will report to the Senior System Administrator. This role requires a strong technical background in systems administration, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The ideal candidate will be highly flexible, ready to step in and provide support where needed, and will have a proven track record of supporting complex systems and ensuring the reliability and security of critical IT services.
As a key member of the IT team in the IS department, you will make significant contributions to our team with accountability for the following:

Provide support for hybrid cloud solutions across on-premises, Azure, and AWS environments, ensuring seamless integration and optimizing for performance, security, and cost-efficiency.

Administer and maintain server hardware, operating systems, and platforms.

Support backup and recovery solutions such as Veeam, Azure Backup, and AWS Backup, with the ability to configure, monitor, and troubleshoot backup jobs across hybrid environments

Support VMware virtualization environments, ensuring resilience and consistent uptime for critical services.

Support backup and recovery operations to safeguard data integrity and support business continuity.

Install, configure, and manage system software, including operating systems, middleware, and utilities.

Support application platform operations as needed.

Provide Service Desk Tier 2 & 3 support as needed.

Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability, ensuring uninterrupted service delivery.

Respond to system alerts and incidents in a timely manner, diagnosing and resolving issues to minimize downtime and service disruptions.

Contribute comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Collaborate with other company functions and internally with IS team to solve technical issues and find cross functional solutions to ongoing challenges and requirements.

Stay informed on industry developments and emerging tech to propel innovation and improve system capabilities.
Required Skills, Experience and Education:

Proven experience in systems administration across hybrid cloud environments, including Azure, AWS, and on-premises systems (Dell, HP).

Extensive experience in managing and optimizing Windows and Linux operating systems, ensuring security, efficiency, and reliability.

Extensive experience with an Active Directory/Entra ID directory services environment.

Experience with supporting and managing a M365 environment including Exchange, SharePoint, Entra ID, Teams, Intune.

Experience with identity providers (IdPs) such as Microsoft Entra ID, including SSO configuration, identity federation, and automated user provisioning.

Knowledge of virtualization technologies, particularly VMware, with experience in configuring high availability environments.

Experience with infrastructure monitoring/observability tools

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, evidenced by a history of enhancing system performance and resolving complex technical issues.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Experience with storage solutions, including SAN, NAS, and cloud storage, and the ability to manage and optimize these systems for peak performance.

Strong experience with IT management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Jamf, Egnyte, and Smartsheet’s.

Knowledge of and experience implementing standard security practices.
Preferred Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field.
