The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Research Informatics Specialist to support the research biologists of our organization. The successful candidate will be a key contributor in the Information Sciences Department, reporting directly to the Associate Director of Research Informatics and working closely with all members of the Department. An ideal candidate will draw upon their experience working in a life science environment, be customer service oriented, and be able to manage a broad range of enterprise level scientific applications, as well as niche applications for specific business needs.
Required Skills, Experience and Education:

Bachelor's degree or higher, with applicable experience within a scientific or laboratory environment, especially one that is related to small molecule drug discovery.

Experience with administration of Benchling ELN, Registries, Inventory and Workflows.

Experience with administration of Genedata Screener or similar high throughput data analysis platform.

Understanding of biology research workflows in small molecule drug discovery research and the use of scientific applications and platforms such as Prism, Studylog, and Snapgene.

Experience managing the implementation and maintenance of biology research applications and platforms including relevant experience in project management.

Good documentation practices and familiar with writing policies, SOPs, and work instructions.

Strong communication skills interacting with user and technical communities. Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.

Proficiency with SQL databases and proficient in SQL/PLSQL.

Proficiency working with Windows, macOS and Linux operating systems.
Preferred Skills:

Experience administering Electronic Laboratory Notebook platforms such Benchling.

Experience using data reporting and visualization tools such as D360, Knime, Pipeline Pilot, Spotfire, Vortex.

Experience supporting biological sample management systems.

Experience working within a cloud-based IT infrastructure.

Experience supporting lab-based instrumentation and automation.

Experience with LIMS implementation and support.
The base salary range for this full-time position is $96,000 to $120,000 for candidates working onsite at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA. The range displayed on each job posting is intended to be the salary for an individual working onsite in Redwood City and will be adjusted for the local market a candidate is based in.
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, market dynamics, and relevant education or training.
