Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers.  The company’s R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. As a new member of the Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding professionals in a tireless commitment to patients with cancers harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway.

The Opportunity:

The Director, Pipeline & Product Communications role will drive the creation and implementation of public relations strategies, plans, and tactics for the company's RAS(ON) oncology pipeline and product franchise.

In this role, the successful candidate will proactively prepare and execute communications plans and materials that drive understanding and differentiation of the company's innovative pipeline and product candidates. This role will also support the company's reputation through media relations, thought leadership, data/regulatory milestone communications, educational campaigns, and other public relations engagement tactics/channels.

The ideal candidate is a leader with a competitive orientation. This position requires a strong communications professional who demonstrates sound judgment and has an exceptionally high aptitude for building trust and influencing key stakeholders to help drive effective communications.

This position will report to the Executive Director, Head of Communications. 

  • Develop and oversee integrated communications strategy around RevMed’s science and innovation narrative across investigational products and pre-launch activities.

  • Deliver integrated science communications in collaboration with R&D/Medical Affairs and other stakeholders to position key data milestones.

  • Develop and execute measurable, integrated external public relations plans to raise the profile of RevMed and its investigational portfolio.

  • Collaborate across teams, including Commercial, Medical Affairs, Patient.

  • Advocacy, R&D, etc to prepare for the launch of the company's first product(s)

  • Provide proactive communications counsel and ensure pipeline/product communications initiatives ladder up to the company and business priorities.

  • Build relationships with key business/industry/medical and oncology trade press and influencers to amplify the pipeline and company narrative/positioning.

  • Shape news moments and overall messaging of our most important brand/product milestones, in partnership with the Head of Communications and IR team.

  • With Head of Communications, drive thought leadership/speaking engagements, issues management, employee engagement, and leader communications related to the pipeline/portfolio, and in support of the overall RevMed corporate reputation plan.

  • Support the development and implementation of an editorial plan to support the business and contribute to the overall digital/social media strategy for the company.

  • Design and implement measurement practices to actively manage, optimize, and communicate performance against objectives.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated leader with a track record of setting, driving, and delivering against integrated communications strategies. S/he will have expertise in pipeline/product communications and be able to collaborate with business leaders to develop integrated communications strategies across every phase of the product lifecycle. S/he will have a demonstrated ability to successfully lead and influence others. This individual will also have a strong grasp of storytelling that can engage and energize employees and support the company's business objectives.

  • Minimum of [10] years experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry with experience in pipeline and product communications at a public relations agency or related field.

  • Experience with product launches in oncology or a similar setting.

  • Exceptional collaboration skills with the ability to partner effectively within the department and across the enterprise to drive and scale communications strategies.

  • Ability to influence and advise leadership in both communications and business settings.

  • Strong understanding of the U.S. healthcare space and the technical side of the business, including U.S. regulatory policy, R&D, pricing, and access.

  • Ability to turn complex ideas into stories easily understood by a broad audience.

  • A high-energy, independent self-starter is able to write quickly under deadline with attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations.

  • A creative and solutions-oriented mentality.

  • Strong management and leadership skills.

  • Experience directing agencies.

  • Superior written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills; ability to engage with and persuade a wide variety of audiences.

  • Able to quickly learn the business.

  • Demonstrated skill in proactively building relationships with top tier reporters and in successfully positioning subject matter with the media to achieve high-impact placements.

  • Bachelor's degree required, ideally in Communications/Public Relations or related field.

Preferred Skills:

  • Master's degree preferred.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $210,000 to $253,000 for candidates based at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA. The range displayed on each job posting is intended to be the minimum and maximum salary for the position in Redwood City and will be adjusted for the local market a candidate is based. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, market dynamics, and relevant education or training.

Please note that base salary is one part of the overall total rewards program at RevMed, which includes competitive cash compensation, robust equity awards, strong benefits, and significant learning and development opportunities.
