Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers.  The company’s R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Director of Data Science Platforms to support Revolution Medicines’ portfolio of commercial and in-house omics and data science platforms. The successful candidate will be a key contributor in our Information Sciences Department, reporting directly to the Senior Director, R&D Information Operations and working closely with teams across Research & Development. An ideal candidate will draw upon their experience working in a life science environment, be customer service oriented and bridge the gap between data science and IT.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement a vision for data science strategy at RevMed.

  • Work closely with scientific stakeholders to understand their omics and data science needs.

  • Guide internal IT and Cloud Operations on best practices for data architecture, storage and data transfer.

  • Management of RevMed’s commercial omics and data science platforms.

  • Support internal data pipelining efforts.

  • Provide and enforce governance to omics and data science teams.

  • Manage and support internal app development and deployment.

Required Skills, Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher, with applicable experience within a life sciences environment, especially one that is related to bioinformatics and data science.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical omics/data science discipline with a track record of innovation and leadership in bioinformatics and data science.

  • Extensive experience with R and Python and deploying applications with Shiny, Streamlit, Bokeh or Dash.

  • Experience managing Posit Connect, a managed RStudio environment.

  • Experience managing the implementation and maintenance of applications and platforms along with corresponding project management.

  • Excellent scientific and business communication skills, strong interpersonal/collaboration skills and planning skills.

  • Working knowledge of API’s (e.g. REST, SOAP) to integrate applications, databases and SaaS platforms.

Preferred Skills, Experience and Education:

  • Experience with commercial omics platforms such as Rosalind, DNAnexus, Qiagen IPA or Genedata Profiler is desirable.

  • Experience with HPC in both AWS and Azure is highly desired.

  • Experience with application of AI in Life Sciences.

The expected salary range for this role is $210,000 to $253,000. An individual’s position within the range may be influenced by multiple factors, including skills and experience in role, overall performance, individual impact and contributions, tenure, and market dynamics. Base salary is one part of the overall total rewards program at RevMed, which includes competitive cash compensation, robust equity awards, strong benefits, and significant learning and development opportunities.
