Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit high-value frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers.  The company’s R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. As a new member of the Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding scientists in a tireless commitment to patients with cancers harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway.

Revolution Medicines is seeking a motivated individual with a scientific background to play a critical role a buyer within the research and development (R&D) team. This position will be responsible for all indirect procurement related tasks such as sourcing activities, Request for Proposals (RFP’s), managing supplier relationships, ERP system responsiblities, procurement process optimization, and scale-up support of Revolution Medicines’ pipeline compound development and clinical programs.   This role is an individual contributor with team leadership responsibilities, reporting into the Associate Director, Procurement.

The Opportunity:

  • Managing PO’s, cross functional collaboration and leading supplier negotiations.

  • Support process improvements in cost reductions and inventory management preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information resulting in measurement reporting and purchasing metrics.

  • Maintain purchasing related information in the ERP system and ensure data accuracy in support of system implementation and use.

  • Support procurement process improvements with special emphasis on the development of a strong supplier base in conjunction with inventory management and material cost objectives.

  • Identify, resolve, and expedite issues to ensure timely identification and procurement of materials.

  • Maintain database parameters working on cross functional basis to identify business needs

  • Coordinate and negotiate favorable terms with suppliers to support cost, schedule, and performance requirements.

  • Support supplier alignment understanding total delivered cost to leverage purchase opportunities.

  • Communicate at all levels to ensure proper purchasing, materials management, and inventory control objectives and strategies are achieved and supported as requested and in line with company objectives.

  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure optimal quality, cost, and delivery (including KPI's, Scorecards, etc.)

Required Skills, Experience and Education:

  • 5+ years professional work experience plus a BS/BA or 3+ years professional work experience plus a MA/MS or MBA in a corporate environment, preferably in the areas of procurement and supplier management.

  • Experience managing and maintaining strong business partner relationships.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, contract management, tact, judgment, and organization experience.

  • Working knowledge of RFP’s and RFQ’s.

  • Act as a ‘strategic thought partner’ to the Business Unit while aligning on business objectives, challenges, projects and requirements.

  • Proven track record of applying procurement principles, concepts, best practices, and standards along with an in-depth knowledge of industry practices required.

  • Ability to develop category and sourcing strategies by identifying opportunity areas with proven record of effectively directing and leveraging procurement spend in assigned category areas.

  • Knowledge and experience with procurement/spend systems data and analysis.

  • Experience working with and leading multiple projects and teams simultaneously across a matrixed organization.

  • Meets Revolution Medicines leadership commitments with demonstrated experience in applying these principles.

Preferred Skills, Experience and Education:

  • BS/BA degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Operations Management, or Supply Chain Management.

  • Coupa experience preferred.

  • Ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the company.

  • Adept at problem solving/multi-tasking in a fast-paced atmosphere.

  • Strong Excel skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and vendor management skills.

  • Experience working with R&D.

The expected salary range for this role is $125,000 to $145,000. An individual’s position within the range may be influenced by multiple factors, including skills and experience in role, overall performance, individual impact and contributions, tenure, and market dynamics. Base salary is one part of the overall total rewards program at RevMed, which includes competitive cash compensation, robust equity awards, strong benefits, and significant learning and development opportunities.
