Job Summary

As the Sales Director, your goal will be to drive revenue growth through leading, managing, and supporting the North American Sales team to source new business through multiple pipeline channels, discovering PubNub projects and use cases through consultative selling, drive deals from nurture to close, find opportunities for expansion, and ensure customers are successfully onboarded and growing, as well as develop regional sales strategy, refine the team’s sales motion, and execute the strategy against quarterly goals and targets.
 
Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Account Executives, Account Managers, and Sales Development Representatives by coaching and developing repeatable sales motions and processes to source, close and expand new business.
  • Mentor and guide sales representatives in building their careers while achieving sales objectives, quotas and targets, as well as how to lead a customer through a proactive, consultative sales cycle.
  • Develop strategic sales plans based on company goals that will promote sales growth and customer satisfaction, including direct implementation and execution of sales motions and practices.
  • Establish sales targets to meet the company objectives and hit sales goals, including developing annual and quarterly sales plans in support of organization strategy and objectives
  • Partner with sales engineering and other technical resources in guiding the prospect journey from ideation to successful implementation.
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing and Product to build targeted messaging and collateral, and mapping a customer journey for the specific business needs of the region.

Minium Qualifications 

  • 5+ years experience in managing high-performing sales reps in selling technical solutions to technical audiences like CTOs, Product Managers, and Software Developers.
  • A solid understanding of selling cloud, APIs, SDKs, communication tools, CPaaS or consumption-based technology solutions where customer relationships are dependent on technical performance and reliability.
  • Experience with APIs, SDKs, cloud computing or similar technologies and enjoy selling to a technical audience and building mutual trust. Familiarity with real-time technologies  like Pub/Sub, Socket.io, MQTT, Firebase or similar technologies.
  • Experience with closing 6-figure deals with complex organizations with multiple stakeholders including CTOs, product managers, and software engineers.

Additional Qualifications

  • Proficient in Salesforce.com for tracking activity, retention and revenue metrics, while leveraging tools like Outreach and Zoominfo to drive productive sales motions and communication.
  • Experience with need finding, value-based sales process, building ROI as part of your sales methodology;
  • Experience in defining goals and processes that drive net new business results within the SMB and Mid-Market space;
  • Ability to evaluate teams, develop and reshape them as necessary while mentoring and inspiring them to drive continually improving results through strong leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong consultative relationships with external partners and internal cross-functional teams at all levels.
  • Experience in identifying and sourcing new and compelling customers with fast-growing development teams.
  • Bring data driven methodology and quantitative analytical skills, including pipeline management and forecasting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, along with world-class interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effortlessly make complex contractual, technical, and financial details sound simple.
