The Role

The Pantheon Site Experience Team at Pantheon is looking for a Software Engineer II, focused on improving the core software that our customers use directly. In this role, you will enhance Pantheon’s integration with WordPress and Drupal, ensuring our platform delivers top-tier performance, stability, and user experience for developers and content creators. You’ll work on building new services and maintaining existing ones that keep Pantheon at the cutting edge of web development.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Experience working in web development, ideally within the WordPress ecosystem.
  • Passion to learn how to build scalable container-based systems with Kubernetes and Go.
  • Familiarity with platform integration and maintaining development environments for open-source content management systems.
  • Solid collaboration skills to work successfully with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers and technical teams.

Minimum qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • 3-5+ years of web development experience, particularly with WordPress.
  • Experience creating sites for clients or organizations.
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience contributing to platform and service improvements.

What You Bring to the Table

  • WordPress Expertise: You have significant experience working with WordPress, contributing to both client projects and larger-scale platform enhancements.
  • Drupal Experience (Bonus): Experience working with Drupal, particularly in ensuring compatibility between our platform and the latest versions.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in React, Golang, Kubernetes, and the ability to build and maintain core platform services.
  • Collaborative Mindset: You thrive in cross-functional environments, working with product and engineering teams to prioritize and deliver new features.
  • Customer Focus: You understand the value of maintaining a platform that works seamlessly with key technologies and ensures a top-notch user experience for developers and customers alike.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with React, Golang, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience building and maintaining services that integrate directly with Drupal and WordPress.
  • Contributions to open-source projects, particularly within the WordPress or Drupal ecosystems.
