What we're looking for:

Nexamp is looking for a Mid-Level SCADA Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate must be a self-motivated independent worker with ability to multitask between multiple active projects. Mid-level requires years of experience with developing numerous SCADA projects from inception to completion: PLC programming, project management, IP networking skills, in-depth knowledge of industrial protocols including DNP3 and Modbus protocols. Candidate exudes exceptional work ethic and commitment to accomplishing goals.

You will be hybrid out of our Boston, MA office with business travel to the Lawrence, MA office two days per week. You will report to the the Manager, Operations Center SCADA.

What you'll do:

  • Support all facets of SCADA development of central (Nexamp Operations Center) and site (project) applications including: 
    • Communication drivers
    • SCADA communications
    • SCADA PLC programming
  • Work hand in hand with CED partners to expedite SCADA project implementation and commissioning.
  • Collaborate with NOC team to drive and customize SCADA system development.
  • Focus on modular design to ensure cost effective and efficient future plant integration.
  • Develop future SCADA site additions, improvements and enhancements.
  • Assist in maintaining Nexamp’s enterprise SCADA platform to monitor, control and dispatch renewable energy assets.
  • Round out SCADA team staff responsible for maintaining all aspects of Nexamp’s emerging SCADA platform offering.
  • Responsible for developing 24/7 maintenance plans and protocols in support of associated equipment.
  • Mentor junior SCADA engineers and demonstrate high level troubleshooting skills.
  • Travel to troubleshoot SCADA and communications equipment when necessary.
  • Provide customer support to CED and CEO teams from startup through lifecycle operations.

What you'll bring:

  • 3+ years of SCADA development.
  • Ability to develop modular SCADA system: equipment templates, custom widgets, faceplates, parameterized site pages, and proper tag structure.
  • Ability to program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLCs as necessary.
  • Excel at HMI visualization and modern design.
  • Alarm notification configuration and management, multiple rosters, callouts, pipelines.
  • Automatic Report Generation and the ability to write scripts for custom functionality.
  • Strong project management experience.
  • 3+ years of IEC 61131-3 PLC programming experience.
  • 3+ years of experience of SCADA development with AVEVA System Platform.
  • 3+ years of IP networking experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with Modbus RTU/TCP and DNP3.
  • Solid understanding of subnetting, VLANs, VPNs, NAT, routing.
  • Experience configuring routers, cell modems, and switches.
