SUMMARY
We are seeking a VP, Engineering who is responsible for design and deployment support of all Distributed Generation (DG) and Utility Scale (US) projects for the organization. The VP will set the strategic and operational objectives of engineering to support organizational goals to create industry best-in-class PV and Storage designs in terms of buildability and performance. This will be accomplished through technical expertise, innovative ideas, collaboration with internal stakeholders and establishing personal relationships with the key proponents of in business development, supply chain, deployment, and asset management in our current and future markets. In addition to setting the strategic pace, this position will manage a technical team to drive project level execution for solar and storage. A balance of soft skills, technical acumen, and an innovative thinker will be empowered to lead the team to be an engineering leader in our industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sets strategic and operational goals for the Design, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and SCADA that are nested within and support Clean Energy Deployment's (CED’s) national strategy
- Provide guidance, direction, and mentorship to the Engineer team to value engineer all projects so the organization can efficiently, and cost effectively build DG and Utility Scale commercial solar and storage projects nationwide
- Collaborate with Business Development/Channel, CED Operations, Grid Integration, and Deployment to facilitate solar construction nationwide
- Develop and enforce standards and procedures to ensure quality standards are met and consistent
- Responsible for all Engineering comp and non-comp budgeting; drives organizational structure and is responsible for coordinating talent acquisition and business unit personnel development to support Engineering objectives and CED strategy
- Assist the SVP, Clean Energy Deployment to lead the organization’s innovation teams by providing priorities of work, feedback on initiatives, and establishing new focus areas to drive continuous improvement
- Provide senior management and C-level executives accurate and timely engineering analytics and reporting on a regular basis
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of relevant engineering experience
- 5+ years cross-functional project leadership
- Experience leading people and teams; 5+ years of experience
- DG and Utility Scale PV operational experience strongly preferred
- Strategic planning and implementation experience
- Policy and/or legal experience strongly preferred
- Experienced or certified in Quality or Process Excellence methodologies
- Technical (Engineering, Operations Management, Mathematics, Science) Master’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
