Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Director of Bioinformatics to lead our team in analyzing large-scale, multimodal data. This role is pivotal in driving the development of cutting-edge algorithms that will deliver actionable insights to oncologists, enabling personalized patient care. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in bioinformatics, algorithm development, and working with complex data sets in a clinical or research environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Algorithm Development & Innovation: Design, implement, and validate algorithms to process and interpret multimodal data, aiming to identify biomarkers, assess therapeutic responses, and support personalized diagnostic solutions. Lead the advancement of computational tools and pipelines for data integration, processing, and visualization.

Data Analysis & Integration: Oversee the analysis and interpretation of large-scale biological datasets, including genomic, transcriptomic, and histopathologic data, ensuring high data quality, integrity, and clinical relevance.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams—including molecular biology, clinical research, data science, and software engineering—to align computational strategies with organizational goals and enhance assay development efforts.

Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of bioinformaticians and AI/ML scientists, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. Support their professional growth by providing guidance and tools to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Clinical Application & Communication: Translate bioinformatics research into actionable, clinically relevant results that will enable clinicians to make informed patient-care decisions. Effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences within the company and at scientific forums.

Regulatory Compliance & Documentation: Ensure rigorous compliance with regulatory requirements and thorough documentation of bioinformatics processes to maintain accuracy and reproducibility in clinical diagnostics.

Thought Leadership: Stay current with emerging methodologies and technologies in bioinformatics, genomics, and AI, bringing innovative approaches to the team and actively contributing to the scientific community through presentations and publications.


Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, or a related field.

  • 8+ years in bioinformatics or computational biology, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role focused on NGS and/or imaging data. Proven experience in clinical or diagnostics settings is strongly preferred.

  • Proficiency in Python, R, and Linux, with expertise in data analysis tools and machine learning techniques for multimodal data.

  • Expertise with high-throughput sequencing, liquid biopsy, and/or histopathology data in oncology is highly advantageous.

  • Strong understanding of oncology and use of multimodal data in oncology research

  • Demonstrated leadership, project management, and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence cross-functional teams in a collaborative environment.

The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location.
