POSITION SUMMARY:

Primary duty is the supervision of 4+ Patient Service Centers and associated managers in the assigned region. Supervises the activities of staff and the operations of their assigned Patient Service Center according to established policies and procedures. Responsible for supervisory duties such as attendance, hiring staff, disciplinary action, terminations, performance reviews, skills development, PSC compliance, etc. Maintains an active working role as a phlebotomist to provide coverage at PSCs as needed. This position does travel to Patient Service Centers or client offices as needed to provide phlebotomy coverage account management. May perform yearly PSC inspections and skills assessments as required by standard operating policies. Responsible for ensuring staff adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).  Actively and consistently reviews SOP’s to ensure content is current and provides recommendations to supervisor with proposed updates.  Conducts periodic inspections to ensure suitable handling of patients and specimens, and all regulatory and permit requirements are met per each State’s requirements.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages phlebotomy program requirements:

  • Manages direct PSC Manager reports for assigned region

  • Monitors overall draw volumes

  • Monitors customer feedback

  • Manages escalations as needed

  • Manages scheduling issues

  • Ensures continued and open communication with PSC managers for ongoing team development and performance

  • General phlebotomy knowledge for each assigned PSC locations (per state regulations)

  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complies with legal regulations

  • Reports KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to product management leadership on weekly basis

  • Tracks collected specimens in Skedulo or LIMS as needed to resolve any issues

  • Tracks overall draw volumes, PSC profitability, personnel records, etc.

  • When required, maintains specimen integrity by using aseptic technique, following Natera established procedures

  • Resolves unusual test orders by contacting the authorized ordering or treating health care provider, i.e., physician, pathologist, or reference laboratory; referring unresolved orders back to the originator for further clarification; notifying internal Natera team of unresolved orders

  • Participates in special projects as assigned

  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations

  • Enhances Natera’s phlebotomy reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

  • Employee must complete training relating to HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance training and security training as soon as possible but not later than the first 30 days of hire

  • This role will work with PHI on a regular basis both in paper and electronic form and has access to various technologies to access PHI (paper and electronic)

  • Reports any CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) or NCR (Nonconformance Report) issues to internal Natera product management leadership team

  • May require onboarding, training, and retraining of individual phlebotomists, as deemed necessary to support patient volume increases

  • Must maintain a current status with Natera’s training requirements

  • Employee must pass post-offer criminal background check

  • To support Natera policies for patient-facing role:

  • Employee must complete pre-employment physical exam

  • Employee must provide Covid vaccination documentation or willingness to obtain a Covid vaccination or sign a declination within ten days of employment

  • Employee must have or obtain TB clearance (TB Clearance must be within 12 months)

  • Employee must have Hep B vaccination documentation or written declination

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of phlebotomy experience

  • 5+ years high-level customer care experience

  • Managing/supervising phlebotomy operations and/or teams experience, along with PowerPoint, Excel, and Word proficiency

  • BS/BA degree (preferred)

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) required

  • Phlebotomy Certification (or equivalent) preferred, except where regulatory regulations are mandated depending upon state

  • Previous financial and budgetary experience preferred

  • Bilingual language skills preferred for English and Spanish

  • Ability to serve and protect Natera by adhering to professional standards,  policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and regulatory standards

  • General understanding of mobile phlebotomy and general phlebotomy services

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams
