Modernizing Medicine is seeking a Release Train Engineer who will be responsible for optimizing the flow of value delivery by the Agile Release Train (ART) and is focused on serving the needs of the train to drive performance and growth. Key responsibilities include coordinating and facilitating the PI Planning, ART ceremonies, managing dependencies across cross functional teams in the ART, and providing visibility into th-0900                                                                                                                       e health of epic/feature delivery and the overall program increment. This role ensures impediments to epic/feature delivery are resolved quickly and protects the teams from outside disruptions to delivery. In addition, they promote and coach the Agile mindset and principles, empowering individual teams to become self-managing and fulfill their cross-functional potential.

Your Role:

  • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART using various tools, such as the JIRA Dashboards, Program Kanban, Confluence and other information radiators.
  • Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Releases, Iterations and Program Increments to support Product roadmaps.
  • Coordinate and lead the PI Planning event and PI Planning readiness by fostering a Continuous Exploration process that drives the synthesis of a Vision, a Roadmap, and Backlogs, and through Pre- and Post-PI Planning events.
  • Summarize Team PI Objectives into Program PI Objectives (the RTE) and publish them for visibility and transparency.
  • Track execution of Features, Capabilities to deliver PI Objectives as planned with highest quality, adhering to Security, Healthcare Regulatory and Compliance requirements.
  • Lead ART synchronization events, including the ART sync, System Demos.
  • Assist with economic decision-making by facilitating feature and capability estimation by teams and the roll-up to Epics, where necessary.
  • Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets.
  • Help manage, report, escalate dependencies, risks, mitigations and impediments with high visibility and transparency at all levels.
  • Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks.
  • Encourage collaboration between teams and System and Solution Architects / Engineering.
  • Work with Product and Solution Management, Product Owners, other RTEs and stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment within and across ARTs.
  • Improve the flow of value through value streams by improving and assessing the Release practices associated with Continuous Delivery Pipeline.
  • Represent Agile Program Management Office (APMO) in establishing and standardizing best practices and alignment in program execution and operational excellence.
  • Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt, ART Business Agility assessment, and fostering Communities of Practice (CoE) like Scrum of Scrums
  • Measure and manage ART KPIs and metrics for continuous performance improvement.

Skills & Experience Requirements:

  • 10+ years of significant experience working in Agile Development environments with at least 3 - 5 years as Technical Program Manager or Release Train Engineer leading delivery.
  • Proven experience in managing and delivering large-scale software solutions in a highly regulated environment, preferably in healthcare technology.
  • Strong experience & knowledge of Agile, Lean and Scaled agile practices, especially SAFe.
  • Strong experience in Continuous Delivery, Release, CI/CD Pipeline.
  • Strategic thinking and significant experience working in an agile transformation successfully coaching and transitioning teams, programs, and portfolios.
  • Extensive hands-on experience working in Software Product Development Teams, experience in leading and coaching product delivery teams successfully.
  • Experience leading Agile teams as a Scrum Master, Product Owner, Release Train Engineer, or Delivery Lead.
  • Certification in Leading SAFe, SAFe Advanced Scrum Master, and/or SAFe Release Train Engineer.
  • Extensive experience in JIRA, Confluence creating reporting metrics and dashboards that illustrate the flow of value 
  • Experience working with tools such as Power BI, Jenkins, Test Rails, etc.
  • Experience working with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders, vendors.
  • Ability to coach, mentor Scrum Masters, empower the delivery teams to embrace agility.
  • Mastery in communication - verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills to influence, negotiate and persuade to drive positive outcomes.
  • Advanced skill in motivating and uplifting team members in a rapidly evolving, fast-paced environment..
  • Advanced skill building effective relationships through rapport, trust, diplomacy, and tact.
  • Advanced, problem solving, collaboration, critical thinking, team building, and excellent presentation skills to a big audience and at ELT level.
  • Hybrid office environment. 

Education

Bachelor's degree preferably Computer Science, Information System or related fields.
