ModMed is hiring a driven Quality Assurance Engineer is an advanced position in the software engineering field who is a critical member of a software development team who ensures the quality, reliability, and performance of complex software systems through the design, implementation, and execution of automated tests and testing frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in Agile sprint and release planning, the development of user stories and associated acceptance criteria, the creation of quality assurance activity tasks, Product Owner demos, and Agile retrospectives
  • Provide continuous feedback through the update of the Product Backlog (using department Agile tools) and daily standups to communicate task progress, issues, and risks to Agile teammates and peers in other work groups
  • Work collaboratively with all members of the Agile team to create appropriate conditions to test or to determine non-production factors that limit testing
  • Developing and maintaining automated testing frameworks for complex software systems.
  • Designing, coding, and executing automated tests to ensure the quality and reliability of software.
  • Analyzing and interpreting test results to identify defects, performance bottlenecks, and areas for optimization.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and quality assurance engineers, to ensure that software meets business requirements and customer needs.
  • Developing and implementing testing strategies, methodologies, and processes that align with industry best practices and standards.
  • Providing technical leadership and guidance to junior members of the testing team.
  • Participating in code reviews, design reviews, and other software development activities to ensure the highest quality standards.
  • Continuously improving and refining testing processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Work with development team to integrate automated testing into continuous integration and deployment processes
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices in software testing, software Development and quality assurance
  • Write correct and clean code, following stated best practices and rarely making the same mistake twice.
  • Participate in technical design decisions with guidance.
  • Focus on attaining expertise in one or more areas of the codebase.
  • Self-sufficient in at least one area of the codebase with a high-level understanding of other components.
  • Provide support for your area including components you may not be familiar with.
  • Give timely, helpful feedback to peers and managers.
  • Communicate assumptions and get clarification on tasks to minimize the need for rework.
  • Solicit feedback from others and eager to find ways to improve.
  • Understand how your work fits into the larger project and identify issues with requirements.
  • Capable of prioritizing and completing complex tasks with guidance as part of a team.
  • Make steady progress without the need for constant feedback from more senior engineers and know when to ask for help if blocked.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development or software testing.
    • comfortable in writing selenium with JAVA or similar language framework
    • expertise in writing test plans with the ability to identify test cases which can be automated
    • experience of working with developers and business analyst/product owners in a scrum team
    • API testing (good to have)
    • minimum 2.5-3 years of experience in writing automated test cases
  • Proficiency in software testing methodologies, including unit, integration, system, and acceptance testing.
  • Experience with agile software development processes and methodologies.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with object-oriented programming using technologies like JAVA, Restful, SOAP and message queues.
  • Experience with CI/CD technologies, such as JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket (or other Git server), and Jenkins
  • Experience with T-SQL and SQL Server.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium with Java, Appium, Cucumber or TestNG.
  • Experience with API testing and tools such as Postman, Rest Assured, Playwright etc
  • Experience with testing cloud-based SaaS applications and microservices architecture.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to think critically.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
