Position Overview:

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced technical leader to hire, build and lead a team of AI & Data Engineers in the exciting and meaningful area of healthcare technology. We are seeking a Senior Manager with hands-on expertise in artificial intelligence and a strong understanding of data engineering to lead our AI development and data engineering initiatives in Hyderabad. This individual will be responsible for building and managing a world-class team of AI product & data engineers, driving the development and integration of AI & data solutions across our software products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and Lead AI Teams: Hire, develop, and lead high-performing AI development and data engineering teams, providing strategic and tactical direction to deliver cutting-edge AI and LLM solutions.
  • Cultivate Innovation and Excellence: Mentor teams of AI product engineers and data engineers, fostering a culture that prioritizes creativity, experimentation, and excellence in AI and machine learning (ML).
  • Architect and Deploy AI Models: Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of AI and ML systems, including LLM-based applications and scalable, high-performing data pipelines.
  • Strategize AI and LLM Solutions: Guide the development of technical roadmaps and strategies for AI platforms and large-scale LLM integration, driving innovation in AI applications and tools.
  • Enhance Products with AI: Develop and implement AI-driven and LLM-powered features to differentiate and enhance our software products, delivering measurable value to end users.
  • Ensure Scalability and Security: Ensure AI models and data solutions—particularly those leveraging LLMs—are robust, scalable, secure, and aligned with industry best practices.
  • Big Data Platform Oversight: Lead a team of data engineers and analysts to optimize and maintain our big data and analytics platforms, ensuring performance and reliability at scale.
  • Advanced Data Engineering: Oversee the development of sophisticated data processing pipelines, leveraging tools such as PySpark and Databricks, with a focus on LLM-ready data processing and optimization.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with cross-functional teams—including product management, software development, and business stakeholders—to ensure AI and LLM initiatives align with company objectives and customer needs.
  • Stay Ahead of AI Trends: Stay at the forefront of advancements in AI, LLMs, and data engineering, incorporating new methodologies and technologies to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Deliver Projects Successfully: Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure the successful delivery of high-impact AI initiatives, including LLM integrations and other advanced machine learning projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in AI development and data engineering, with a track record of leading successful AI projects.
  • Strong expertise in machine learning, deep learning, data modeling, and algorithm development.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and tools such as Python, R, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and data engineering platforms.
  • Knowledge of big data architectures and processing techniques.  
  • Advanced proficiency with Databricks, including designing, optimizing, and managing workflows on the platform (Databricks experience is a must-have).
  • Ideal candidate will have experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing data warehouses, including advanced proficiency with ETL processes, schema design (star and snowflake schemas), and the use of SQL for complex data queries and transformations. 
  • Hands-on experience in managing large-scale data systems is preferred.
  • Proficiency in SQL, alongside experience with both relational and non-relational databases.
  • Experience building and leading teams of engineers in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a strategic vision for AI technologies.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence at all organizational levels.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
