UX Researcher

Department Summary

UX Researchers at BOLD study product offerings with a variety of methods, integrating the study of behavior in the product context for the best solutions. Researchers who love to enable colleagues in the Product and User Experience teams make great experiences will find this role very rewarding.

The foundation for success as a UX Researcher is excellence in research methodologies, a solid understanding of behavior, and a love of improving technology products. The researcher’s experience and research-based insights will bear on all aspects of product development, from the most tactical to strategic direction. Methods will run the gamut from in-person observation to aggregate user action data. In a team context, researchers will help deliver new solutions for our websites, mobile applications, and rich-internet-applications.

Position Summary

The right candidate in this position can apply their skills to improve our suite of products and elevate them to higher standards. BOLD’s dynamic small team processes plus large successful company resources make for an exciting environment for researchers.  You will partner with the product management, design, UI/UX teams to develop research methodologies and studies that deliver research insights that will help the teams develop the product solutions that drive excellent customer experiences.

Position Responsibilities

  • Execute user research and product testing on new and existing offers
  • Collaborate with Research teammates across product and initiatives
  • Lead stakeholders and the organization to the most impactful research questions
  • Present research and visualize findings to facilitate Design or Product goals
  • Develop new UX solutions via multi-disciplinary cooperation with UI/UX designers
  • Unite and align functions through research findings and understanding of both user and stakeholder-needs

Required Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience conducting user research and informing UX strategy
  • Comfortable analyzing and working with both qualitative and quantitative data
  • Experience working with large scale data in multi-method studies
  • Basic statistical competence
  • Deep knowledge of UX research methods, such as usability studies, field studies, benchmarking, creation of user personas, participatory design, surveys, focus groups, and competitive analysis
  • Experience working with cross-discipline, e.g., with marketing and product teams
  • Effective communication of research findings to varied audiences
  • Familiarity with survey design and data analysis

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong ability to communicate and influence product teams on the research approach to solving the problems that significantly enhance the user experience
