Medicare Marketer

Who we are

Jellyvision is known for ALEX®, the market-leading employee decision support platform that has earned the company thousands of customers, millions of users, and more than $600m in lifetime sales, profitably. While we’re so grateful for our success in the employee market to date, we have big ambitions to help those transitioning from employer sponsored care into the world of Medicare. Accordingly, a small team is being tasked with designing, developing, and iterating a platform that will be the go-to resource for Medicare Beneficiaries, reducing decision-making stress, increasing satisfaction with plan choices, and ultimately improving health outcomes by guiding users to the best possible coverage for their health, lifestyle, and financial well-being.

Because this initiative is in incubation stage, we need team members who are:

  • Scrappy, resilient figure-it-outters and comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Deeply market and customer obsessed; every interaction is an opportunity to learn, improve and better serve our user.
  • Excellent communicators and collaborators who work with others to do what needs to be done, often wearing multiple hats as people in startups tend to do.
  • People that value progress over process.

While the product roadmap is still taking shape, here are some values that will be front and center in all that we do:

GUIDING PRINCIPLES

  1. Simplicity and Clarity at the Core: Transform the often overwhelming and confusing world of Medicare into an intuitive, user-friendly experience that breaks down complex terms and options into clear, actionable steps.
  2. Personalization for All: Recognize the unique needs of each beneficiary by delivering tailored advice that considers their health status, financial situation, and lifestyle, ensuring they choose the Medicare plan that best fits their individual circumstances.
  3. Trustworthy Guidance: Serve as a reliable source of information, leveraging up-to-date data and expert insights to ensure that beneficiaries are making decisions based on accurate, relevant, and unbiased information. When we have limitations, we name them.  When there’s ambiguity in a choice for a user, we make sure they know it. And we play no favorites with any vendor in the ecosystem. We serve the user and the user alone.
  4. Empathy and Support: Understand the emotional and psychological aspects of making healthcare decisions, offering compassionate support that helps alleviate anxiety and build confidence during the decision-making process. We speak to “you,” our user, and bring personality, humility, humanity, and honesty into every word we share.
  5. Continuous Innovation: Stay ahead of the curve by continuously improving ALEX Medicare, integrating feedback from users, and adopting new technologies and methodologies to enhance the user experience and ensure the tool remains relevant in an ever-evolving healthcare landscape.
  6. Joy. (Or at least a healthy sense of humor) in service of our users and colleagues alike.

What’s the role?

We are seeking a creative and strategic Marketer to help us drive beneficiary and soon-to-be beneficiary engagement, awareness, and use of our ALEX Medicare platform.  We are looking for an insightful marketer, with a witty and conversational style and a playbook as unique and innovative as we plan for our platform to be.

What you’ll do to be successful

  • Develop and Execute Marketing Strategies: We’re not believers in “build it and they will come.”  We think we’re going to need to do serious heavy lifting to break through all the noise, confusion, and predatory tactics to build interest, intrigue and trust with today’s beneficiaries, the purpose of which is to drive consumer traffic to, and usage of, our ALEX Medicare platform.
  • Social Media Management: You’ll decide on and make bets on the social media platform or platforms where we can be most successful, and lead the strategy and execution of content to build brand presence, generate leads, and foster community engagement.  You’ll become best friends with influencers who can promote us.
  • Lots of Content Creation.  You’ll create, deliver, test, and optimize emails, posts, and collateral and responses to others’ emails, posts and collateral, co-marketing, direct mail, case studies, white papers, webinars, eBooks and, when necessary, recipes, to generate awareness and interest in our offering. In partnership with a Lead Writer and Visual Designer, you’ll create the materials we need for sales pitches, conferences, speaking engagements, and media interviews.
  • Consumer Understanding.  You’ll help the team with the forensic work of understanding the new-to-Medicare consumer, their preferences, how they seek to learn, and their concerns; and you’ll build relationships with them by sharing helpful, honest, and eager to please communication.
  • Media Partnerships: You’ll identify and establish partnerships with relevant organizations and influencers within the Medicare ecosystem to enhance brand visibility and credibility.
  • Performance Tracking: You’ll monitor, test, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of marketing initiatives. Together, we’ll learn as much about our consumers and our market from what doesn’t work as from what does.
  • You’ll own our web site, its strategy, and approach for making it amazing.
  • Competitive Analysis.  While our north star is the beneficiary and our sights are not on where the market is now but where it SHOULD be, you’ll help us keep tabs on the marketing efforts of our competition.
  • Compliance: Ensure all marketing efforts are compliant with Medicare regulations and guidelines, maintaining the highest ethical standards in all communications.

Experience & skills you’ll need

  • Experience: 7+ years of marketing experience in the healthcare industry.   Understanding of Medicare products, regulations, and the needs and media habits of a 60+ year old demographic is a MUST.  Experience with Carriers or FMOs  ALT  5+ years of social media marketing experience to 60+ year old demographic. Understanding of Medicare products, and regulations as well as experience with Medicare Carriers or FMOs a plus.
  • Be a great writer. Seriously, your written and oral communication skills should be really outstanding. We’re not just looking for clarity; we’re seeking a refreshingly conversational tone from someone who can consistently bring charm and simplicity to the world of Medicare, a weighty task, we realize.
  • Social Media Expertise: Proven track record of developing and executing successful social media campaigns, with a deep understanding of platform-specific strategies, particularly those with the 60+ age demographic..
  • Creativity: Ability to think outside the box and develop innovative marketing solutions that resonate with people who never want to be referred to as “Seniors”
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize marketing efforts.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create engaging content and articulate complex ideas simply.
  • Collaboration: You’re a team player with a positive attitude.  You’re not afraid to speak up and respectfully challenge ideas, while being open to feedback yourself, because you care more about the team’s success than being always right.
  • Scrappiness: You won’t worry about scaling until it’s absolutely painful to do it yourself - and you can figure out just about anything. You’re the Marketing MacGuyver.
  • Strong business acumen and be a strategic and creative thinker.   Someone who can mine the internet for business intelligence and insight and report it back to the team so we all get smarter and make better informed decisions?  Yes, please.
  • Be a roll-up-your-sleeves kind of person.  We don’t know what is going to work so we need someone with a “move fast and try things” mentality. We have a scrappy, get-it-done culture that takes pride in its strong work ethic and low tolerance for micromanaging or posturing. Actually, we barely even take pride in that, because that would be posturing, to some degree. Anyhow, to be direct, bureaucrats and middle managers need not apply.

In closing, we know we’re looking for a bit of a unicorn - someone who has stared down the CMS gauntlet and still has a sense of humor?  So please include a cover letter with your application that tells us about you, ideally with 3 reasons why you’d be a good fit for this gig.

And THANK YOU for your consideration of Jellyvision!
