About the Role

We are seeking a very well connected, experienced Head of Sales and Marketing to drive sales and market expansion for our newly launched MIBIplus https://www.ionpath.com/mibiplus/ product, targeting biotech and pharma translational research in immuno-oncology and other relevant applications. This is a hands-on role for a sales professional who can lead sales from the front. This leader will build out an existing team in Sales and Marketing team and will actively network and present Ionpath capabilities to clients and build a sales pipeline to achieve company annual bookings and revenue targets. The ideal candidate has experience in the spatial biology market, including knowledge of platforms, immunofluorescence, and spatial biology applications in immuno-oncology and immunohistochemistry (IHC).

About You

You are a seasoned sales and marketing professional that has strong technical acumen and credibility in the consultative selling of contract services to Academic Medical Centers (AMCs), biotech and pharma companies performing drug development and translational research. You have an extensive network in the industry and a strong history of account relationships with key thought leaders in immuno-oncology and related fields. You have managed the marketing and sales process from lead generation and follow-up through closing contracts ranging from proofof-concept studies to large clinical sample analysis projects. You have experience selling tissue imaging or related pathology services in the immuno-oncology market. The successful candidate will work closely with the CEO and leadership team to develop the strategy and guide the company through its next stages of growth and evolution. This is an opportunity for the right candidate to build a commercial team and ascend to a C-suite role in the future, managing all lines of the business

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the sales strategy to meet the MIBIplus revenue goals
  • Lead sales from the front while managing and building a sales and marketing team
  • Build brand awareness and drive marketing initiatives to expand the sales funnel and close sales quickly.
  • Drive MIBIplus sales and achieve annual bookings targets by using strong hunting, prospecting, and closing skills that will set an example for the sales organization
  • Present Ionpath’s MIBIplus capabilities at all levels including C-suite executives within client organizations.
  • Produce dashboards, reports and presentations & represent Sales and Marketing to Ionpath’s Board of Directors.
  • Drive territory planning and deliver both accurate and timely forecasting with consistent maintenance of the opportunity funnel in Salesforce.
  • Deliver a best-in-class customer experience and represent Ionpath professionally and with integrity at all times.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10+ years sales and marketing experience with a track record of consistently meeting and exceeding quota and management experience required
  • Extensive experience selling imaging technologies or pathology services to bio-pharma accounts.
  • Strong desire to win business and establish long term customer relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in a startup environment.
  • Able to engage in work-related travel.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field. Masters or Ph.D. preferred.
  • Ideally a hybrid role based in the San Francisco Bay area or the ability to travel to our head-office in Menlo Park, CA as needed
  • Travel required: 30% - Salary Range $170K - $350K negotiable
