Overview

About the Role - 

In this role, you will be responsible for understanding and improving Fulfillment Quality, as well as transforming insights into impactful actions to drive positive outcomes. Within the PEO Analytics team, you will play a pivotal role in leveraging operational performance data to diagnose fulfillment quality gaps and provide data-driven recommendations to address these gaps and improve our products and processes. By spearheading the detection and resolution of quality issues, you'll not only tackle immediate escalations but also establish proactive monitoring systems that enhance our long-term operational excellence. Your work will also involve supporting cross-functional insight needs to facilitate improvements across multiple areas.

About the Team - 

The Platform Excellence Operations (PEO) team is dedicated to improving the quality of Instacart’s online grocery experience for our customers, shoppers, retailers, and the overall marketplace. The analytics team focuses on identifying, understanding, and eliminating defects in the online grocery experience by analyzing and interpreting operational data. The team ensures that stakeholders have a consistent understanding of why business performance is changing and advocates for improving poor experiences that may be overlooked. You’ll be part of a dynamic cross-functional team that collaborates closely with stakeholders to provide critical data insights to enhance our operations and overall customer experience.

As part of the Marketplace & Retailer Pillar within PEO Analytics, you will be working on problems related Fulfillment Quality ranging from cancellation, reschedule, timeliness, etc. Will will play an essential role in maintaining Instacart’s reputation for reliability and operation excellence by managing the complexities of retailer-level fulfillment quality, from metrics analysis to strategy development. About the Job  

Metrics and Reporting 

  • Proactively monitor and resolve retailer performance issues across broad dimensions
  • Build dashboards and processes to simplify the problem diagnosis process
  • Develop monitoring and support for new retailer launches
  • Monitor performance fluctuations and outliers in key performance metrics within the Retailer Quality workstream to understand root causes and recommend corrective actions

Data Analysis

  • Analyze large datasets related to Retailer Fulfillment Quality to derive business insights.
  • Support analytics requests, retailer data ad-hoc analyses, retailer launch impact assessments, and retailer escalations.
  • Provide support in sizing initiatives for product and analytical roadmaps.
  • Independently create and execute analytical plans to identify, understand, and reduce Retailer Fulfillment Quality issues with high accuracy and consistency.

Presentations and Communication

  • Create and present insights decks to a cross-functional audience of business and technical stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Approach problems with a solutions-oriented mindset and clear logical narratives backed by data that result in actionable recommendations.

About You

Minimum Qualifications

  • +1 years of experience in a data analytics-related role (e.g., business intelligence, corporate strategy, consulting, data science, etc.).
  • Experience in analyzing and visualizing large datasets.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Excel/Google Sheets for data analysis.
  • Ability to aggregate and synthesize large amounts of data and leverage a deep understanding of micro and macro fulfillment metrics and systems to drive insights.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with great attention to detail; able to quickly detect anomalies in performance metrics and trends, form hypotheses for investigation, and draw conclusions through nuanced analysis.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint/Google Slides for effective communication.
  • The ideal candidate will have a knack for identifying unusual patterns, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for investigating problems to determine root causes.
  • Ability to work independently with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Comfortable proposing new ideas to challenge existing processes and provide actionable recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with consumer marketplace/logistic business
  • Familiarity with: Snowflake or similar data warehouses, Github, and Jira 
  • Familiarity with Visualization Tools: Mode, Tableau, or similar
  • Experience working directly with product/engineering teams on scalable process solutions

This role is remote and the base pay range for a successful candidate is dependent on their permanent work location. Please review our Flex First remote work policy here.
