We are seeking a Senior Manager, Tax Provision and Compliance to join our Tax team and play a key role in further developing and leading the day-to-day operations of the income tax compliance and reporting tax function both US and foreign. As a leader, you will also be responsible for developing and implementing policies, improving processes and identifying resources in a fast-paced environment.  You will partner with key internal partners from the Controllership, Finance, Strategy, Legal, Internal Audit, Investor Relations, and Treasury, to optimize tax structures, manage effective tax rates, optimize cash tax flows, and minimize risks and tax exposures.  This role reports to the Senior Director of Tax.


  • Establish the direction, goals, and priorities for US income tax reporting and compliance function
  • Oversee preparation of quarterly and annual tax provision calculations, including experience with GILTI, FDII and BEAT, Section 956 and Subpart F
  • Manage worldwide tax account reconciliations, including local GAAP/IFRS and US GAAP, as well as assist with international statutory reporting
  • Assess and review tax provision impacts related to M&A, transfer pricing,  method changes,  and impacts of potential tax law changes
  • Assist in forecast modeling with respect to future effective tax rates and cash taxes
  • Support documentation of income tax strategies, policies and positions
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls processes including liaising with Internal Audit, Controllership and our external auditors regarding SOX compliance
  • Manage and coordinate global income tax compliance which includes working with outsource providers and internal resources
  • Perform and review technical research and analysis on US and foreign income tax matters and communicate effectively to leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Enable product launches, go to market execution, and financial targets.
  • Work closely with other Product Managers and Engineering, while also owning key cross functional relationships with Sales and Finance leaders
  • Support the product strategy and roadmap for Tax


  • 8+ years of relevant tax experience working at an accounting firm or multi-national company, public company a plus 
  • An advanced degree or professional qualification in tax, accounting, or law (CPA, JD or Master’s degree)
  • A strong background in US income tax compliance and ASC 740 income tax accounting of international operations
  • Ability to build strong, collaborative working relationships with partners and leadership
  • Consistent record of mentoring and developing talent
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including established presentation skills with leadership and board materials  
  • Experience working in a high-growth, rapidly scaling environment
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm for Instacart
