OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Senior Associate to join the Strategic Finance team focused on Instacart Ads. This is a rare opportunity to join a growing team at the ground level and drive analyses and forecasts for some of our most exciting initiatives. In this role, you will provide financial partnership for business priorities that will have a critical impact on Instacart’s near and long-term success.

As a Senior Associate, you have both strong attention to detail and the ability to consider the big picture to drive strategic decisions and investment recommendations. You are highly analytical and a clear, confident communicator. 

About Instacart Ads

Instacart Ads help brands attract and engage customers at every stage of their shopping journey — from initial keyword search and aisle browsing through checkout. Our vision is to democratize the grocery store by offering brands of all sizes an equal opportunity to reach potential customers. As a member of the Strategic Finance team, you will build relationships with multiple stakeholders in the advertising business while you partner to solve complex business problems.  

ABOUT THE JOB 

  • Partner cross-functionally to develop financial models that drive forecasting, strategic decision making, and initiative prioritization for Instacart Ads 
  • Partner with FP&A and BizOps leads to generate monthly and quarterly performance and forecast reviews, board meeting and investor presentations, and other financial review presentations for leadership teams
  • Contribute to monthly, quarterly, annual, and long range P&L planning
  • Design and implement financial processes that use internal data and KPI’s to monitor and forecast financial performance of advertising business
  • Complete ad hoc business projects and financial modeling analysis that drive decision-making

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, CS, Math, Economics, Finance, Business or other related field
  • 4-6 years work experience in a relevant field with demonstrated financial acumen and a track record of leveraging data for business impact 
  • Work experience in consulting, equity research, private equity, or Strategic Finance at a high-growth technology company preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced SQL knowledge is preferred
  • Highly proficient in Excel with strong attention to detail
  • Work experience with digital advertising is a plus but not required 
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working with internal stakeholders, including senior leadership
  • A self-starter with a positive attitude and ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
  • Finding humor in food puns is a plus!
